Yes. Typically shut-down corners are assigned to the best WR, afaik.

Most other defenses have figured out that "right" isn't much more than a mirror image of "left." Washington apparently hasn't gotten around to that level of awareness.

Jeff Fisher is a tool. Let's take a quote from his starting QB after getting shutout by San Fran-fucking-cisco:
“I was seeing ghosts,” Keenum said, via ESPN.com. “I was seeing things that weren’t there. I wasn’t trusting myself and my abilities. I tried too hard. I just have to let the game come to me, take what the defense gives me, trust my teammates — they do a great job — and get the ball out of my hands to the right place.”
From a Jim Trotter interview:
Jeff Fisher credited SF. I asked how team could play so poorly w/ 7 months to prepare. Said no excuses but added team moved 4x in 7 months.
So ... excuses?
Jeff Fisher told his team that he wouldn’t be tolerating “7-9 bullshit” any longer and gave the world exactly the soundbite it needed to mock him every time the Rams lose this season.
...
And that’s weird, because the fact that he brought up 7-9 at all means he has to be aware of what people are saying about him specifically, which is that he’s a mediocre coach skating on his personability and relationships.

Cut to the season opener.

The Los Angeles Rams were shut out on Monday Night Football, 28-0, in what we can only pray will be the worst game we see all season. Last season, it would have had the eighth-worst output by total yardage (2016 is off to a roiling start, Bills-Ravens would have been third) out of 256 total games played. Case Keenum threw two interceptions and averaged 3.7 yards per attempt, and is two spots ahead of the 2016 No. 1 overall pick on the depth chart.

A good defense did its best, but its spirit broke after the Rams offense ended 11 straight drives with a punt or interception. The 49ers finished a 77-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter after their previous six drives averaged minus-0.8 yards. On their next possession, the Niners got to the end zone in 11 plays over 80 yards, 27 of which came from penalties that Aaron Donald earned in an on-field outburst.

I read that article at lunch today. Very good insight into Fisher. He's a joke.

I wish I could place a wager that Harbaugh has his job when that stadium is done.

The jets are looking good so far. Pissed I didn't see the forte breakout after I rode ivory last year. Decker got me 18.6 but that's not going to be reliable. One too many WRs in a run-happy offense.

Who gets fired first? Rex Ryan or Mike McCoy?

Rex. The Chargers at least know they're not hanging around SD and can pretend to have a new start.

Hah. Greg Roman, the O-coordinator, just got the ax.

Goff is backup versus Seattle. This is at home in LA. If Keenum puts on another lackluster first half, you think Fisher's dumb enough to try out Jared?

Wes Welker is a lock to catch more passes than any other LA receiver for the next couple weeks.
"It was funny. I hit him up (because) I'm actually heading up to the game (Saturday), and I hit him up to do dinner Saturday night," Wes Welker said on 560 WQAM in Miami (via ESPN.com). "(Brady) was like, 'I'm going to be flying in from Ann Arbor later, but hey, how about that morning we go throw?' And I'm just sitting there, like, 'I was just thinking about dinner, but yeah, sure.' I'll get over there early and we can throw a little bit. That's the only thing we really have planned."

Ron Rivera exposes his hurt backside.

Why is this just coming out a week later?

Even more.

I may as well cheer for the Browns at this rate.

My knack for starting exactly the wrong QB in FF continues, and Woodhead may have been seriously hurt.

At least you started Cam in our league.

I have C. Coleman (Cleveland), M. Jones (Detroit), and T. Williams (SD) all on my bench. I have zero idea who any of those guys are, but they scored 22, 11, and 12 points respectively.

In choosing between Tyrod Taylor, Carson Palmer, and Eli manning I went with Eli after seeing how bad NO's defense was last week. Doh.

Corey Coleman is Cleveland's rookie WR that hauled in 2 scores today. (Tyrelle?) Williams in SD got one.

ESPN's piece of shit app didn't save a lineup change I made (Sit Jordan Reed and play Travis Benjamin). Because of that I lost. I would have won by 3 points.

Ouch. That blows. I always log directly onto the website. Phone's browser has a tab set to my team's homepage. My opponent in the pussy keeper league put up a lowly 45.8 points with Langford and Jordan Matthews to go. I've got 88.1 points plus Ryan Mathews. Catt keeper league: cruising to a sure 2-0.

Browns just keep doing Browns things yesterday.. 20 point lead in the first quarter just pissed away, all the while 38 year old Josh McCown getting blown up play after play. Pretty sure he will be out for an extended time now too. So that puts the terrible looking, completely unprepared Cody Kessler up for the start next week.

So where do the Browns go next? trade for Kaepernick? (please GOD no! I'd rather just go 0-16) bring Mike Vick to the Dog Pound? Matt Flynn? Who wants to be starter #26??? anyone... anyone???....
