I wonder if there's a market where like companies say "Nah, I'm not paying 125%," so the goods are stuck in port, and then you can negotiate to buy them cheaper?

I've clicked a couple google links and can't get a clear answer.
Is it a 104% tariff on China, or did the current tariff increase by 104%?

That would hit harder if there had ever been a moment in either presidency, or the four years in between, when he hadn't been treated with complete derision.
It'd also carry more weight if the last president wasn't clearly mentally incapacitated, and they did nothing except lie about it.
But yeah, a whole lot of people should have read "The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf". The cultists still listen, but everyone else is done.
Seems like the only people riled up right now are retirees and the 10% of Americans who own 90% of all stocks.

I genuinely imagine Amazon would figure out a way to sell them while avoiding the tariff. They don't really give a shit about ethics and laws.

China is up to 125% now. I have not heard the 104 number?

Ah, yeah, that's yesterday's news.
Trump’s reciprocal tariffs on nearly 100 nations took effect overnight, including a 104% tariff on Chinese imports. On Wednesday, Beijing said it would raise levies on U.S. imports to 84%, from 34%. In his early afternoon social-media post, Trump wrote that he had raised the tariff imposed on China to 125%, "effective immediately."

Well I just don't know what to do if we aren't playing nice with china.
70+ nations have begun negotiations, including the EU, to end the tariffs. Others have already reached deals, including Mexico who do so before this shit show. So, I guess that's nice?
China and Canada are really the only two big holdouts, and I've heard it said that Canada won't do shit until after their election.
However, as posted elsewhere, one of the only times I'll be on the same page as Kevin O'Leary, "Fuck China".

It's weird how Trump is such an incompetent moron, and according to some "possibly insane," but 70+ nations are coming to realize their main trading partner has a stronger poker hand than they ever will.
Whew such a lucky and unforeseen outcome.

All tariffs paused for 90 days and lowered 10%.
Except China whose tariff is now 125%.
Did I not post previously the Arab guy at the last WEF meeting who said, "All people need to know about Trump is that he wants to get you to come to the table to negotiate. Everything else is just leverage to get you there."

Can't be. Trump's a moron, and possibly insane.
I'm curious what the chinese equivalent of the stock market is doing, since our traders are panicking.
My kid was panicking a little and my advice to him was to hold on to everything, it always goes back up.

I've heard things aren't going well on China's side, and their economy was already in trouble.

Correct, and the one time it doesn't, society has more than likely collapsed, so who cares.

The fact that sentiment is bandied about by supposedly serious people should seriously piss serious people off. It only fuels the panic that is hurting the top 10% of those stock holders.
