Yeah, at the end of the day, it's just supply + demand. It's super rare to find anyone that's completely irreplaceable.
GORDON wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:03 pm Is this still the case? Do we not have enough IT workers and need to import? Or do we not have enough IT workers because salaries are kept low with imported labor?
I mean, I make a lot of $$ cuz my skills are rare. There are software engineers making more than $1 million/year at various companies.

Actual people whose job it is to have a beard, smell kind of bad, and watch the code all day? Or managers?

Americans are too busy trying to become actors, athletes, influencers, and lawyers.

Oh, and to be fair, many are going a different route with coding.

However, that doesn't seem to be doing so great either...

But they don't understand, the graphics code they couldn't get off source forge was written for them by ChatGPT. They totally have skills.

And they should all be fired immediately without exception. You work for the U.S. Government. It doesn't matter if there's an R, D, I, G, L, or whatever in the top office. That is your boss because the people voted them into that job. Your right to disagree with their politics still stands, but you do not have a right to refuse to work for them and still keep your job.

No, you work for the US people, not the President.

Meme:

Hot guy talks to cute girl. Hot guy is the USA. Cute girl is Greenland.

Hot guy: "Hey there cutie."

Giant fat ham beast steps between hot guy and cute girl. Ham Beast is Denmark, and everyone who hates Trump.

Fat Ham Beast: "She's not interested."

Greenland is indeed interested and why wouldn't they be?

I don't understand why the US is interested?

The country didn't exactly vote "youth" in the last two elections...

To be fair, they could have voted for a much younger, but completely unqualified alcoholic with zero career accomplishments.

Saw Andrew Yang openly contemplating yesterday how he thinks Sanders would have beaten Trump in 2016 had the D party not stepped in to promote Hillary. Polls at the time, if memory serves, give his thought merit. Not to mention he was taking control of the primaries. Imagine if the Trump train had been stopped back then?

Many people, pundits and others, have shit all over the nomination of Harris because they didn't bother asking voters and they clearly knew Biden was unfit for office way back before the primaries and could have done things correctly.

Polls prior to the election clearly stated the overwhelming majority of voters did not want Trump-Biden II, but the parties that people are so loyal to didn't give a fuck.

If Biden had resigned 5 months prior, and put Kamala in the big chair, she'd have had a better chance at election time.

Instead, we were told who we could vote for since Biden dropped out of the running.
