You know, he has a point. Firing a coach after a year or two is really stupid and proves the problem is more upstairs than down. Granted there are a lot of times when you just know, but I don't think this is one of those moments. I think Lurie put too much stock in what the media said as opposed to his coach.
He's probably the winningest 3 season coach to be fired. I could be wrong, I'm not gonna google it.

It takes a good 3-4 years to see what a coach can do, maybe more in certain situations (the f'ed up salary cap and RG3 years of the Redskins).

That being said, I think this year alone showed that he had no business being the owner of personnel decisions.

He had a bench full of injured players ... except for Cousins.

Collected my winnings last night. Still waiting on the traveling trophy the winner gets to hold on to for a year -- the Al Bundy trophy.

The league commish checked out this year due to shitty trade drama. Means we need to find one more dude for next year. We had agreed on one keeper but there's talk of upping it. I'm going to push for as many as possible so I can keep:

Jordy Nelson ... $3
Jordon Reed ... $3
Kelvin Benjamin ... $3
Gary Barnidge ... $1

... in my $250 auction league for $10 collectively, spend $200 on top tier players, and the remaining $40 on backups.

Browns to hold a ceremony during halftime next game where they actually sacrifice Mike Pettine to Jimmy Haslam. The latter will then use the former's still beating heart to anoint Manziel in blood. The hope is that Lucifer will be summoned and accept a few souls in exchange for drafting for the Browns next year and possessing Johnny Douchebag so he takes more shots at the end zone than the bar. When asked what the fuck he's thinking, Haslam replied, "I can't let Jerry Jones have all the crazy." Cleveland media reports surprisingly little resistance to the move from the public provided there's a clause in the infernal contract guaranteeing a Super Bowl victory or at least blowout wins against Pittsburgh and Cincy. There's a vague rumour they're also negotiating for the rights to show Art Modell's eternal suffering in hell on pay per view.

Then goes for a total of -5 yards on his next 3 carries.

In other news, NFL will charge $550M "relocation fee" per team. In spite of the Rams bitch-ass owner Stan Kroenke rejecting the stadium plan from his present town, it looks like he might be the odd man out. Why?

Heading into the January 12 meeting on relocation, no side right now is set to get the 24 votes needed to approve a move. There will need to be a compromise.

It's easier for two teams to build a consensus, and...
The Raiders and Chargers jointly have plans to move to Carson.

Those two teams know for a stone cold fact their fans are dumb enough to road trip to LA a few times each per season. That's on top of the LA fans. If the Rams are yanked from St. Louis, those fans and their money aren't going to Chicago, KC, etc.

Whichever team or teams get left out of the L.A. mix, the league is expected to help secure a new home...

HAHAHAHAHA. Unless they do something insane, like transplant them to Mexico or the UK...

"You've been disciplined TWICE in the past couple months for partying, you've lost the starting job you had fuck knows how many chances to lock down, you're suffering from a "concussion," and you're probably getting traded in the off season. What are you going to do now?"

"I'm going to Vegas."

Coughlin done? Not getting fired, that's a permanent rumour. But word is he's resigning.

While driving this morning I heard Rich Eisen say Tomasula is probably out in SF and they're going to make a play for Sean Payton or Chip Kelly. They think Kelly and Cap will be a good match.

Open head coaching jobs:

Indianapolis
Miami
Tennessee
San Francisco
Philadelphia
Cleveland (probably)
San Diego (Maybe)
Detroit (Maybe)
New York Giants (Maybe)
New Orleans (Maybe)

First sentence of my last post...

Steelers are in after the Jets choke. Steelers at Bengals next week.

And the Patriots choke away the #1 seed, unless Denver chokes it away this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Texans led by former Browns QBs win the AFC South.

Phil Rivers is capable of lighting up that secondary. His WRs ... not so much. Someone like Ladarius would have to step up in addition to Woodhead and Gates having monumental receiving games.

He is taking a lot of heat for it.

I'll give it a pass because I got a laugh out of it. Same pass I'd give to Troy Aikman if he went, "Well of course it's easy for the defense to get the opposing quarterback out of rhythm ... he's white, he doesn't have any."

Let me know how many people are offended by that last one.

It's like they were listening to me. :)

Seahawks win... they either visit the Redskins, or Green Bay does.
