2 year contract, I heard, so yeah.
What a fucking idiot. If he would have just run a few yards and kicked a field goal I wouldn't have had to live through all those calls that went NO way.
They said that play was the first thing a QB learns not to do. Farve sure is a NO fans. If that fuckwit comes back next year consider me a Browns fan. Have you seen the Browns record? That is how pissed I am.

You guys can get shitty with Bret all you want, but the fact is that you wouldn't have made it to the NFC title game without him.

He threw 7 INTs all year until the 2 during that game. That's not bad.

Sure, he made a shitty throw at the end, but did he fumble the ball away three times? Did he allow the other team to score 31 points.

It's a team game.

And before you go defending your hatred for him or saying I don't know what I'm talking about, let me remind you that I'm a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and I was alive in 1994-5. See, that was the season the Steelers faced the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. Neil O'Donnell was the Steelers' QB and had an NFL record streak of passes without throwing a INT.

During the game, the Cowboys were outplayed and outcoached by the Steelers. Emmit Smith was held to 52 yards, and Aikman had a horrible day. The Steelers defense was just that good. Cowher called for an onside kick to start the game and recovered it.

It was a great day for most of the Steeler team.

However, they lost the game thanks to 2 INTs thrown by O'Donnell, both returned for TDs. Both so ridiculously bad that to this day I feel like he might have been paid off to throw the game.

So don't get too down on Bret. Sure, he made the mistake most people will remember, but at least the rest of his team made mistakes too unlike O'Donnell's. And Bret will be back next year, which means people will talk about Minnesota being a Super Bowl contender versus an also ran.

UPDATE: Yahoo's front page has a big article about the Vikings getting robbed. He points out the two big things I stated here in this thread: the pass interference call on 3rd and 5 during the Saints game winning drive and the Pierre Thomas 4th and 1 that should NOT have resulted in a first down.

The pass interference was a joke. The ball was uncatchable and the defender didn't touch the receiver.

And not only was it questionable if Thomas even reached the first down line, but he definitely fumbled, and definitely ended up behind that line. It should NOT have been a first down.

I wanted them to win, to get to the Super Bowl & win so Favre would finally fucking retire.

Brett Favre tells ESPN's Ed Werder it's "highly unlikely" he'll play football again after the Vikings' 31-28 overtime loss to the Saints in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday night.

Yeah, what-the-fuck-ever.

I don't believe that in the least. They could have picked up any old decent QB and done as well. Because they have the talent to make it happen. I was happy with the team itself. Even with the fumbles they were still in the game. Until some idiot makes a high school mistake. With an interception. Totally ignoring an easy 10 yard run and slide, kick a field goal to win the game. He simple grew up there and is a NO fan.

In that case, we should have given you, uh, whatever our QB's name is for this past season.

With that retirement, the NFC West returns to being the NFL's undisputed worst conference. The winner being a guaranteed bye week for whatever wild card team gets lucky enough to play them.

Maybe Leinart will get better.

I wonder if Washington can pretend to be the state of Washington and get a new division.

That's not the end of the world, I don't think. I really haven't seen him play, but have heard decent things.

Speculation kills me sometimes. Farve retiring and Minn. is going to talk to Phila. about bargaining for McNabb. Isn't this all just a little ways off.
I think Minn. has a good thing going. A little better blocking to make Peterson a running threat.(If he can't tow the line ax him) A half way decent QB to throw the to receivers.

It's official.

I wonder if Leinart celebrated or got nervous knowing that now he's the man in Arizona.

I still remember watching the Rams go from worst to first in '99. Fucking amazing. They scored seemingly at will every game.

Wow, good game. Although, my daughter didn't even make it through the first half, fell asleep an hour before bedtime.
