Both of those statements are exaggerated. The economy is going to be harmed though.

Number of new cases day-over-day did NOT grow exponentially yesterday! This could be a fluke (it's happened several times in March) but I had assumed once we got into triple digits it would more-or-less settle into steady exponential growth. One would think that with more testing going on we'd find more confirmed cases, too.

Give me 3-5 days of it, and I'll believe it
5 a.m.: Vice President Mike Pence said the country should be ready for an announcement of more guidelines Monday afternoon, including the possible closing of restaurants and early curfews.
...
4:30 a.m.: Chick-fil-A has closed its dining rooms to limit person-to-person contact, according to a press release. Drive-thru and takeout are still available.

I said "could be a fluke."

I also read that casinos in Vegas are shutting down. I'm sure they're gonna get economically hammered.

I know... I'm just saying... I don't think we've won yet.

Everything's getting hammered. Stocks getting hit a lot harder than I expected. I really thought it'd be a ~20 to 25% drop. Right now we're at 28% down, and falling.

I’ve not heard real reports or accounts of testing increasing in meaningful amount yet, despite what you hear from our govt.

e: first reports of new testing starting to roll in. Almost a 1k cases in NY now.

Just kill that dumb fuck. Two in the back of the head will solve his issue and protect our gene pool.

I'm hearing Ohio is going to cancel school for the rest of the year.

Apparently, Missouri has already cancelled school for the year...if my elderly former CEO has his facts straight.

I'm seeing reports of a national curfew and hearing rumors of a national quarantine.

I own guns, so shopping isn't as critical for me. :D

I was trying to figure out if I should go grab a gun today or tomorrow.

My wife wouldn't let me post something on FB along these lines:
"To all the people hoarding supplies. Thanks for grabbing them from the store for us. Sincerely, people with guns."

ohio governor just closed gyms, movie theaters, and bowling alleys.

And I think he cancelled the election for tomorrow.

Ohio is going to be an economic wasteland after all this, unless there's some sort of relief package.

I want to see hospital statuses. That was supposed to be what we were trying to mitigate.

There are... 4? 5? major hospitals in the Toledo area. The one near me (Bay Park) was designated the Covid concentration one. Covid patients shipped and treated there. So I'm curious to see what actually happens with the hospitals.

White House officials are asking Americans should avoid gathering in groups of more than 10, urging them to stay away from bars restaurants and food courts and asking them to not travel if possible.
