I think the mail could come once a week, and my life wouldn't change significantly. If it weren't for that 1 damned client who mails me a check, I'd said even less frequently.

I live 250 yards from an actual post office, but I don't get home delivery. Also, UPS usually just delivers stuff there and my alert says "get it at the post office." I'm there several times a week. A lot of people outside the cities, are.

My mother's tax office has a couple hundred clients who moved away, but still mail in their tax forms in/want them mailed back. The PO is an active part of a lot of people's lives. People notice when it gets shittier, but charges more. It doesn't make them happy.

Other companies are immediately denying knowledge.

So, aside from the constant anonymous negativity and willful spread of disinformation, what are your thoughts about....

If a normal human is social creature, and craves a certain level of human interaction, how healthy is it if 95% of that interaction now comes through a screen?

I saw a meme today lamenting the loss of the "good old days" when, among other things, people sat on front porches to encourage human interaction with neighbors. I never personally did that, but I wonder if people have been getting their fix through the screen , and becoming more isolated and insular because of it, and even if their screen drip into the vein isn't full of poison (and we know it is), is it healthy in and if itself?

I also read the other day that like 50% of young people have never approached the opposite sex in real life.

Rising mental illness rates suggest it isn't healthy.

I block a lot of people on FB. I think like 800 people and groups, this year, so far. Some people are never going to be worth your time or attention, so it's nice to know you can disappear them. I know the universe is creating new assholes way faster than I can block them, but even so. Maybe someday we'll be able to append our "Block Lists" with each other and get ahead of them. IDK. Identity Bit would help.

When you cursor over a user's name to see the "Block" function, you get "Followed by X number of people." I'd love to also see a "Blocked by X number of people." Just for funsies.

My own number would probably be high. Sometime I can't help but point out logic flaws in their "All intelligent people know" statements/memes.

I'd really like to be completely and totally segregated by assholes from all platforms, including real life.

Seriously though, this is pretty concerning on many levels. Why did FB think you needed to see this? What if you were a kid? What if your wife see it and thinks you're surfing single ads or something? Why is this woman posting near nude photos of herself anywhere? Has she responded to your DMs yet?

Lol. FB just showed me another in that same group. I assume it's all scammers. (I assume most of FB is scammers outside of the people I know).

Look at your activity across all platforms. FB spies everywhere. It knows you like the nudes. Have you searched for anything for an older relative? Anything related to retirement? Anything involving swinging/singles/etc.? Have you or your wife searched the Golden Bachelor or whatever that bullshit is on TV?

I recently learned FB has a dating app built in. I have not yet explored. But I assumed the pic was from that.

BTW, that lady needs to dye her hair. For 65 she's got a good body, but white hair is just a major turn off.

One thing I've noticed is that once I get past "people I know updates," FB tends to just throw random ass shit on the wall. Like the other day I got 4 pictures of Keanu Reeves with various political t-shirts. Or some "history of BMW" thing that was weirdly copy-pasta'd across different accounts. Or people from India posting picture of reddit posts for engagement. So I chalked it up to that.

The only ads I remember clicking on lately were lingerie ads (and, man, you click on one, you get 100 more) to buy some stuff for photography.

Facebook: My friends and family, lots of photography stuff, hot women.
