It sucks that Hyde is trapped in SF. Hopefully he can do well enough to find his way to a good team once his contract is up.

You almost can't hear Steven Jackson over all the "old" drowning his words out.

The free-agent running back published a YouTube video on Monday plugging his new website: www.savetherunningback.org. In the video, Jackson calls three-down backs an "endangered species" and asks for help saving them.

And how do you do that? By emailing your team and asking them to play your favorite running back more. The website has an online form and everything.

You wonder if Barry Sanders is signing up. Also, no word on Old Man Jackson's next campaign to bring back the leather helmets from the 1920s.

And Smith fails to mention that the quarterback Kelly just signed to a new contract, Mark Sanchez, is of Mexican-American heritage. And Smith fails to mention that the quarterback Kelly desperately wants to draft, Marcus Mariota, is of Samoan heritage. And Smith fails to mention that the cornerback Kelly is expected to sign when free agency opens tomorrow, Byron Maxwell, is black. And Smith fails to mention that the running back Kelly is expected to sign when free agency opens tomorrow, Frank Gore, is black. If Kelly is a racist who wants to build a roster full of white guys, he’s doing a spectacularly bad job of it.
