Sitting in a sports bar eating dinner. The only sport being televised, all other TVs are talking heads, is fucking go cart racing.
This is truly the end time.

hahahaha. I turned on my TV to watch Jeopardy, and it turned back on to ESPN, and I was like "Um, wtf is ESPN going to do for the rest of the month?"
Maybe the XFL should stay on just to dominate the sports news.

Ohio health official estimates 100,000 people in state have coronavirus
A top health official in Ohio estimated on Thursday that more than 100,000 people in the state have coronavirus, a shockingly high number that underscores the limited testing so far.
Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton said at a press conference alongside Gov. Mike DeWine (R) that given that the virus is spreading in the community in Ohio, she estimates at least 1 percent of the population in the state has the virus.
"We know now, just the fact of community spread, says that at least 1 percent, at the very least, 1 percent of our population is carrying this virus in Ohio today," Acton said. "We have 11.7 million people. So the math is over 100,000. So that just gives you a sense of how this virus spreads and is spreading quickly."
Official number for ALL OF FUCKING CHINA is 81,000 confirmed cases.

That number seems... Guessy. On the other hand, China's count is definitely lower than reality

I've heard more sirens this week than all my other trips combined. It reminds me of every zombie movie right when the outbreak is starting. Is the coronavirus really a zombie plague?

Well sure, I’m surprised they admitted the disease exists at all. Still.

I tend to agree with the Ohio numbers, and I think they apply in the other states. A shitload of people will carry it and never go to the hospital for the minimal, or nonexistent, symptoms they show. They won't get counted as "confirmed cases."

Dude knows he MIGHT have coronavirus, flies on a plane 2 days later anyway,
and gets his positive result while on the flight.
JetBlue has banned him from all future flights. Honestly, put him in jail for 30 days (after he's healthy again). IF the other passengers get sick or die, sue him.

According to incubation times, in 7-10 days hospitals should be overwhelmed. If they aren't, I'm going to declare this the largest media-driven false panic in world history.
Maybe second biggest, because "Remember the Maine."

Durham Public Schools, Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools and Orange County schools announce closures starting Monday, March 16.
Wake Co is supposed to have a board meeting today. I expect they'll follow suit. Spring Break is scheduled for Apr 6-10; I figure they'll just say they're starting it early.
But of course, the whole point of school is to feed poor children and provide daycare while parents work, so it's a tough call.

Right. I figure they'll do something to provide food and stuff, but no school in some way for a couple of weeks.
