Houston could get shaky depending on the weather.
I don't see how Chicago doesn't take out last week's ass kicking on Cleveland.
San Diego barely beat Oakland the first time. Wait and see if that was a fluke or if Tom Cable has Norv Turner's number.
New Orleans should be a safe bet, but Atlanta isn't a lower tier team.
Indy is a lock.
I agree with Troy on the Arizona game, but I think they win.
And I agree with Catt on the Lions game. Dante is a serviceable enough QB that they might put the boots to the Rams.

Good teams bounce back. Shitty teams sink lower. I'm not sure whether the Bears are good or shitty right now, but I'm leaning towards shitty. Cutler has run that offense into the fucking ground. They aren't & shouldn't be a passing team.

The only hesitation that I've got about Rams/Lions is that Steven Jackson could simply snowplow thru the Detroit D & then Bulger might rise to the level of below average if they back off rushing the dismal St. Louis O-line. I've somewhat confident that Kevin Smith & Stafford/Culpepper can take them down, even minus Megatron.

This is looking like the bandwagon I'll jump on.

Buf beating Hou
Temporarily. Houston got right pretty quick after that.
Det beating STL
Looks like Steven Jackson made the difference. He's a gamebreaking RB. Kevin Smith is still just "good enough." He happens to be 75% of Detroit's plays w\ Megatron gone.
SF beating Ind
Shitloads closer than I thought. San Fran's D stepped up & Alex Smith didn't look that bad. Not Shaun Hill bad, at least.
Phil crushing NYG
Philly traditionally kills the Giants. The confidence of NYG is more volatile than that of most teenage girls. Eli & Co. are always just one or two bad plays away from losing their rhythm/momentum/mojo/whatever.

It's still just the Browns. Next week's game w\ Arizona should be more interesting.

Well, I was wrong about Detroit - I really thought they'd pick up #2.
I was also wrong about picking up AZ's defense to start instead of the Eagles' D.
Argh.

Det took 10 out of 11 out of our football pool. Thank goodness for Den. Took the last one out.

We just fucked over a lot of fantasy teams and pick em leagues today.

I picked up the ARI D somewhere, but I still played Smith in a league or two just because I was that screwed at WR.

Wait.
Are you saying someone was confident enough to pick Denver over Baltimore in Baltimore in a survival league?
That's insane. How did they even make it to week 8?
Hey Malcolm, still hate Brett? If the Steelers get knocked out, I'll be on the Minnesota bandwagon for the rest of the playoffs/season. Not only to root for Brett to go out a winner, and watch heads roll in Green Bay, but also so I can hear your head explode if he wins Minnesota a super bowl.
I'm hearing rumors that Mangini will be fired this week... That team is a dumpster fire.

That's beyond ballsy.

Lots of teams like that this year.

Oh, yes. Even a bit more now -- he's making Childress look good, which means he'll stay.
...if he wins Minnesota a super bowl.
Big-ass if. So far, the Vikes have been playing at the level of X + 1, X being however competent their opponent is. The Steelers 1-up'd them at the end. Even today, that game was WAY closer than it should've been. & it's the fucking Packers. They're running Moats & motherfucking Ahman Green. That's maybe 75% of one quality RB in those two.
Point being there's a section of damn near every game that Minnesota just plain slacks off. & they get torched. If you can get that to happen in the last part of the game, you've got a good shot at beating them. Baltimore missed because their kicker crumbled in the clutch. Pittsburgh D came back after a red-zone fumble.

On ESPN last night they said he was likely to get a contract extension during the bye week. Ouch.

What bullshit. If Mike Tice were still around, I bet he'd be getting it.

Look at the bright side, you don't have Jim Zorn around.

Tonights MNF should be a good game.
I think we pull for the Saints to win, to send the Falcons further back. It's our turn to play the Saints next week.
Which sucks, because it means that we have to throw the ball to win, which usually means, we won't.

If Jim Zorn had the Viking offense, he'd still be calling plays.

I guarantee you that with that offense, we'd be a 500 team at best.
