We were discussing the build of Gordo's Catapult last night, and he was asking about builds. I went searching and found this site, which has builds for all mechs.
I'm about 13,500 XP (three Elite skills) shy of completing Elite status on the required three Cataphracts. So it'll be more CTF-1X for me this weekend.
I might be on tonight, I haven't decided yet. I'll definitely be on Friday and Saturday night.

Got my Thunderbolt. I see people calling it shitty, but while I haven't piloted it yet, this thing is loaded with stuff. ERPPC, 2 Flamers, 3 MLs, SRM6, 2 machine guns, AMS, and already has double heat sinks.
Remember, if you don't want it, you can sell it...
I also mastered Cataphracts so I now get the x2 basic tier skills.
Anyway, free mech weekend brings out the dregs.
I'm seeing lots of noob cameras, sloopy play, and a lot more friendly fire than normal. To be fair, I'm also seeing a lot of different tactics.
Had one game with two griefers. VanzetaoZAO was shooting teammates almost immediately, and got killed by myself and two other teammates. Then later an asshole named Deathblo had powered down somewhere unknown and was the last alive. He sat there laughing about it until the end.
I saw Deathblo in the next match on my team again, and this time he played normal, so I don't know what that was about.
I also saw VanzetaoZAO two matches later, and he was in my lance. He immediately just ran off and got killed in a 1v1 versus an enemy Jenner. So maybe he just sucked?
I actually think it's more likely he's just spamming matches to get the mech. What do I mean? He launches a game with his Hunchback, the enemy is a long way away, so he shoots the legs of some allies. He then proceeds to get killed. He DCs, and heads to another game with his Jenner rushing to get murdered by bad guys who are closer in this one. Basically, he's just launching games, and then hoping his team wins after he's gone so he can get to 5 wins fast.

i didn't get to play this weekend until late last night. I wasn't really in the mood to play anything after my grandmother's death, but i forced myself to play until i got my five wins and got them.
It's possible i'll be on tonight.

Lots of peeps this weekend were just launching games and disconnecting, hoping their team would win.
I got my 5. Not that way, though.

They're testing the launch module today.
It's too late to sign up.
This is scheduled for next week according to Stranger. This is the patch that will even out the teams by weight class. So instead of dropping with 7 assaults or seeing 7 assaults against your team of 7 lights, each team will have 3 of each weight class or as close to it as they can get without making you sit for 20 minutes waiting for a perfectly balanced game.
Also, screenshots of the Adder. I don't like the look of it. They should have named it: The Uncircumcised.

Piranha is saying only 50 of the gold Timber Wolves remain. (They're $500...for a skin!)
Interesting tidbit: They won't tell people how many there were for sale originally.
That's not suspicious at all...

$500 goddamned dollars? Do they UPS hookers and blow to your house the first time you use it?

The best part of that skin is the fact that the MW:O forums are full of people talking about how the gold plated mechs will be KOS for both friend and foe.
Even the pro MW:O players have stated they're not wasting that kind of money on a skin.

That makes the EVE monocle thing look insignificant.

Maybe it's just a way for people to say "Thanks for building such a fun game, have some money," but clearly based on their reaction, MWO players are just dicks.

It's like charging $500 for a "Kick Me" sign, then having someone actually fucking buy one and use it.

Actually, most folks on their forums have a "If people are willing to pay that price, then more power to them" attitude.
Although, that is combined with the "these things will be kos", so I'd call it a wash.
And to date, the MW:O community is about 20 years ahead of the maturity level of the LoL community.

Which means they all act like they're around 20?

I had a dude in a LOL game the other night who was such a tard that I muted him. Of course you have to announce when you are muting these kinds of people... it drives them nuts. I told the rest of the team to let me know if he has anything game-related to say. Now and then they would tell me that he said I made a really good play, that he really admires my tactics, he is really sorry for being a jerk earlier, etc. I bet the tard LOVED that, hehe.

So last weekend seemed to be mostly about losing as lots of noobs were on, and peeps taking short cuts to get their free mech. I was busy most of this weekend, but got on last night and won the vast majority of the games I played. Just a completely different experience from the week prior.
I only played in my Jenners as I'm trying to work them up to master level, and had a 4 game run where I went 3-1, and led my team in scoring and damage. In fact, for three of those games (the three wins), I led both teams in scoring and damage, including a 7 kill, 5 assist game. This was in a Jenner!
Typically, I was thisclose to getting hard to earn achievements in those three games. In two of them, I finished with one kill negating the achievement for doing the most damage on either team, yet getting no kills. In the 7 kill, 5 assist match, I was 1 kill shy of the 8 kills in one game achievement.
Overall, it was a very successful night where I was earning around 1k XP per match, and around $150k c-bills per match. A much needed infusion of cash to offset the $8 million I dropped to correctly outfit my JRF-D. I've got one more Jenner to outfit and Elite.

i finally got to elite status on 2 of my 3 battlemasters this weekend! the third one just needs a few thousand more xp then my BLR-1S will be fully elited and the rest can all be mastered. I must say, going through the process of mastering an assault class mech is time consuming and expensive, and i don't look forward to doing it again.
I'm undecided on what direction i wanna go next. I'm either gonna invest into mastering my Orions or Shadowhawks, both of which i have enjoyed playing lately and have got winning records with both of them. Or i might invest into the Firestarters to get a light into my rotation. I just have a really deep seeded hatred for lights because being a heavy or assault mech, they annoy the living shit outta me. Even my Shadowhawk which is a medium is called the Light Hunter, i've built it just for chasing down them lights and giving me retribution for all the hell they give me when i'm in my assaults.
Either way, tomarrow is a big day for MW:O. Launch module is coming online so 3,3,3,3 and private matches will be live. Hopefully this will make way for the Clan mechs to get into the game and then the much awaited community warfare. From what i've been reading and hearing from on podcasts, it looks like this fall is the due date for this.

Also, i found that if you pay the $500 for the gold mech, you are actually getting the whole Masakari collection of clan mechs that are coming out. So you are paying $240 for 24 clan mechs that comes with badges, titles, premium time and some other bullshit and only $260 for your shiny new gold mech. Much better deal, i guess...

Is being half a tool really much better than being a full tool?
