Read the article, and you'll see that the government has been silently moving the people named around and warning them long before these documents were released.
True, but in the case where they knew it was leaked but Wikileaks told them "we're not going to publish this" would they still have taken the steps to protect them? They certainly should. And maybe they would. I don't know. It'd be nice to think so, but I'm pretty jaded about how our government handles these things. Not because I think government officials are evil or there is some sort of conspiracy, but rather because many are lazy and others are more concerned about appearances than getting the job done right. Maybe I'm wrong about them, though.

"Right to sunbathe." They're claiming that's a thing. But the best line is the last one...
UK spends at least $ 5 million annually on surveillance of Assange.
Jesus H. Goddamn Mother-son-of-a-bitch-fucking Christ of Latter Day Saints on a Crutch Almighty. This is from the India Times, so maybe they mean rupees, but that looks like a dollar sign. A dude. A single, solitary dude. One. Dude.

Still holed up in an embassy.

Brits admit the stick up their ass might be running a bit long.
It emerged last week that police had already spent £10 million keeping an eye on the embassy since the Wikileaks founder took refuge there in June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden.

Fucking finally.
Up to now, Swedish prosecutors have refused to go to London to question the 43-year-old Australian over the allegations.

Third year.
Julian Assange marked three years inside Ecuador’s London embassy Friday, still facing arrest should he ever step outside.
The WikiLeaks founder entered the building on June 19, 2012, to avoid extradition to Sweden for questioning about alleged sexual assaults.
British police stand outside the diplomatic mission, ready to detain him if he leaves. London’s Metropolitan Police says the round-the-clock operation has cost 11.1 million pounds ($17.6 million) through April.

I'm sure those two being holed up has nothing to do with their fear of insanely overzealous US prosecution after they made public the illegal shit everyone assumed was already being done. Secondly, this is interesting. The only thing these two have to cash in are info and integrity. I'd think they have enough of the former to put off selling out on the latter, otherwise they're inviting a siege they can't win.

The last line in that article is awesome:
As one of the individuals who arguably had the biggest impact on destabilizing the US elections, however, its hard to imagine a more fitting punishment for Assange sending him to the same country he helped to ruin.
I guess Gizmodo wasn't rooting for Trump?

Assange's attorney is saying he still plans on turning himself in. We'll see I guess.

Well, they haven't released her yet. I can totally understand him wanting to wait until she is free before turning himself in, because if they decide not to let her go what card does he have left to play if he's already turned himself in?
If he doesn't go in once she is released, though, then lame indeed.

On the up side, the Manning commutation of his sentence should mean he won't be getting his wee-wee chopped off on the tax payer's dime.

Huge news: He's innocent!
Because Pamela Anderson said so!
I'm certain she's spent countless hours investigating the case.

Julian Assange is the world’s most innocent man.
Does she really know all 4 billion men?
