On my broken PC I have a bookmark for the site I hit before I buy ANY Bluray... "Blu Ray Digest," or something like that. Detailed reviews of video and audio quality of every BD release. If it isn't 4 stars or better video quality, not worth getting on BD.

edit: here it is.

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/releasedates.html

sortable alphabetically, date of release, etc.

We picked up a Sony blu-ray player for $150 or so at K-Mart yesterday.

I got the Sony BRP-S350. Good reviews on Amazon versus the "top of the line" Panasonic, especially considering the price.

Bought Wall-E, The Incredible Hulk, and Casino Royale (Collector's Edition) to go along with it.

The hot Blu-Ray movie right now is Iron Man. It was completely sold out of each format at the Best Buy and Target stores I was in today. It also got dropped from Amazon's special that was supposed to run from 2 a.m. until 11 a.m. PST selling new releases at approx 50% off.
