Marvel has a history of dropping the ball for truly great villains.
- Marvel already fucked up during the Craptastic Four/Silver Surfer thing when doing Galactus
- I've not seen the Avengers yet, because fuck Joss Whedon up the ass with a thousand herpes infected dildos, so I'll skip over my otherwise scathing opinion of it. I sure as shit didn't hear people telling me about Loki's kick-ass performance, though.
- Venom in Spiderman 3 ... just fucking wow
- the Ironman villains have been boring as shit
DC/WB
- any flick from the most recent Dark Knight trilogy or even any of the recent DC animated cartoons in have more compelling antagonists than any Marvel flick I can think of since the original X-Men

That wasn't Marvel, that was Fox.

Actually Loki makes that film because Tom Hiddleston is fucking awesome.

That wasn't Marvel, that was Sony.

The fact that we're about to have Iron Man 3, and the Mandarin is finally showing up is both puzzling and amazing.
Iron Man isn't known for having an awesome rogue's gallary, and until the movies, he fluctuated back and forth from A list to B list in the books. So Marvel did something right there despite Jebidiah Stane and Whiplash. However, why are we just seeing Iron Man's primary villain?

You've giving DC/WB too much credit. The reason those movies "worked" was because DC had very little power in the process. Nolan had all the power, and it's why many have said the movies aren't Batman movies, but movies that happen to have Batman in them.
even any of the recent DC animated cartoons
Actually, both DC and Marvel have been doing a great job in the animation area lately.

Sometimes backing off is the smartest thing you can do, particularly when you have more cash than creative brain cells. I applaud Lucas for selling Star Wars. Granted, he sold it to a corporation full of greedy tools that will mangle the franchise any way they can to make a profit off it, but he walked away. I don't trust Marvel to exercise similar restraint.

I think it makes sense. In the movies Iron Man was born because of direct action by Stane to take over the company. Whiplash is Tony's past, and his father's, returning to fuck with him after Tony's very public, "look how awesome it is to be me/I'm Iron Man." Finally, after Avengers, Stark has saved the mother fucking world... it is time for his enemies to be taken up a notch, too.

Whiplash (from the movie) was a lazy combo of Whiplash (from the comics) and the Crimson Dynamo (kind of a commie Iron Man). Going with either one of them separately (preferably the Crimson Dynamo) would've been better than making me believe someone who looks like Mickey Rourke still possesses a brain capable of coherent thought.

I don't know about the comics, so I only know that what the movies have shown is logical.
I was spoilered a bit, though, about the "10 Rings" or whatever they are called, and there was hints about them in the first movie, and in the IM3 trailer Mandarin is wearing 10 rings, so.,..... like I said, it makes sense for his enemies to take it up a notch at this point.

The problem with villains in the superhero movies is they keep killing them off! In comic books, when does a villain ever die? Do they ever? Seems like the heroes die more than the villains.
Yet every single superhero movie EXCEPT X-Men has the villain lying in a pool of his own blood before the credits roll. At least the X-Men movie people had the brains to realize that if you're gonna have a franchise, you NEED the cool villains. And OK, I guess Loki isn't killed either. Whatever.
That's reason enough not to lead with your signature villain, IMHO.

That's what reboots are for.

You just cited X-Men, that led with its primary villain (anti-protagonist?) rather well. Were I Nolan, I'd have started out with the Joker and stretched that shit to three movies.

Exactly: THEY DIDN"T FUCKING KILL MAGNETO IN THE FIRST FUCKING FLICK.
Of course, in the case of Batman, the Joker killed his own fool self. In Real Life.

Team will be 5 members.
Superman
Wonder Woman
Batman
Green Lantern
Flash
They need to pretend Green Lantern never happened, and literally say that in the opening credits, and cast Ryan Reynolds as The Flash. Then cast Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.
They also need to keep Christopher Nolan as far away from the movie as possible.

I think Ryan Reynolds would be better as Aquaman.
And then continue to not put Aquaman in the movie.

There should be some mention of, "Hey, remember that douchebag Green Lantern that got his ass beat by Darkseid?"
"Yeah, the Corps really needs to get a better screening process. Good thing we got a totally different Lantern that in no way is related to that other, douchey one.

Zings!
Reynolds does work as Flash though. The Flash is cocky and makes jokes. He's the class clown.
Hal Jordan's Green Lantern is not the class clown. He's very serious. He's also older and was picked due to his lack of fear. He's constantly butting heads with Batman.

Yeah, but when push comes to shove, the Flash isn't an asshole. I don't think Ryan Reynolds can be anything besides an asshole.

Agreed. Ryan is good at playing a particular sort of amusing role that has strong asshole tendencies. And that's all he ever does in every role he's in. Sometimes that's a good thing. Not always.
