I wouldn't judge him about his slave owning ancestors at all.Leisher wrote:Who cares? We're now judging folks on the actions of their ancestors? Really?Malcolm wrote:Not thrilled about his ancestry.
I don't blame him for trying to hide that at all.
Why does she look like a male horse? I can't determine a horse's sex by looking at its head or face.Leisher wrote:She looks like a male horse.
I think it's a little.... something.... to purposely try to hide it. Dishonest?

When asked if his anger has subsided, Butters admits that he is still jealous of Ben Affleck, who, in addition to being very handsome and married to Jennifer Lopez, is a good film director. When informed that Affleck is now married to Jennifer Garner, Butters' anger is assuaged, and he walks off into the sunset with Kenny, content.
Eh. It is what he allows it to be. No one, absolutely no one, could hold him accountable for shit that happened 150 years before he was born. But, he tried to hide it, so he made it shameful on himself.Leisher wrote:I disagree there.I think it's a little.... something.... to purposely try to hide it. Dishonest?
He's in a business where everything is a scandal so trying to get in front of it is understandable.

Other people had slave owner ancestors, and I didn't hear dick until he tried to cover it up. Does anyone even watch PBS? Wait -> Does anyone watch PBS that also knows how to post things on the Internet?Leisher wrote:I disagree there.I think it's a little.... something.... to purposely try to hide it. Dishonest?

I agree, it's... wrong that he tried to have it hidden.

As long as we agree Alias-JG was hot, I take back calling you Cake.

If he'd have just owned it maybe it would have helped ease some of the "white people today are responsible for their slave owning ancestors." It is harder to say that when liberal's ancestors owned slaves. Makes people uncomfortable.
We deserve neither credit nor blame for our ancestors and the degree of interest in this story suggests that we are, as a nation, still grappling with the terrible legacy of slavery.
I didn't want any television show about my family to include a guy who owned slaves. I was embarrassed. The very thought left a bad taste in my mouth.
"PBS and WNET have determined that the series co-producers violated PBS standards by failing to shield the creative and editorial process from improper influence, and by failing to inform PBS or WNET of Mr. Affleck's efforts to affect program content," it said in a statement.
