I think everyone is making a mistake to think the Russians were trying to help Trump. They were trying to hurt the President. They thought the President would be Hillary. I don't think the Russians are any better at poll analysis than the people here. They were trying to create distrust and angst against the new President. I think it worked better than they could have dreamed. Even in Helsinki, when asked if he wanted Trump to win in '16, Putin said yes. He knows this is just adding fuel to the fire the press has burning against Trump. If he were really on Trump's side he would have given some bullshit democracy pep talk.

I think it's ignorant to think this hasn't always been happening with Russia (and previously, the Soviets). I also think it's naive to think it doesn't matter. Remember, Ted Kennedy reached out to the Soviets for assistance in defeating Reagan leading up to the '84 election. Republicans, stop acting like this doesn't matter. Democrats, stop pretending to be virtuous.

Also, it's hard for me to take liberals seriously about election integrity when they fight every law that tries to verify voter eligibility.

Russia has engaged in more corporate espionage than any other country. Russia demands a price of "give us your secrets and processes" for companies to do business within their borders. Russia has a thriving pirate business that it doesn't recognize as an issue. Russia has been identified by several world powers as responsible for hacks and attacks on corporate and governmental networks.

That's where Gordon's "never Trump" is absolutely part of the equation.

And this is not a defense of Trump. Fuck Trump. However, Gordon is 100% right that there is a focus on anything people can pin on him, while other issues, even identical ones, get ignored.

I had to turn off alerts on my phone.

CNN's are all "Analysis" or "Opinion" on why Trump sucks.
FOX's are all fluff and distraction from whatever Trump did today.

I don't watch much Fox News. Usually when I do it's on their business side because they tend to be less hysterical in their coverage. But they've been pretty good on their daytime coverage of late. About a 50/50 split on calling out the Putin crap. It's not treason. I think a lot of his behavior was due to people telling him NOT to do what he did. Just remember, this is Trump during the eclipse after being told to not look directly into the sun...
