The first appearance of an explicit PEMDAS rule in Dutch is in an appendix of a textbook on algebra for the military academy (1838), aimed at military engineers, not elementary school students, nor academic mathematicians.

I assumed since we use arab numerals, and algebra was invented by a muslim, the rules would have been set down then. Hard to believe it took a thousand years to define the order of operations.... in fact, I don't believe it.

2. In no way, shape, or form does the semantics in one tweet take away from the FACT that this asshat in on national TV daily spouting horseshit to an audience of voting age people. Seriously, she's a daily highlight reel. The other View hosts aren't much better.
