And 1am. Fucking die Comcast. AOL had better connectivity than you 20 years ago.

No "outage" today. Exact same shitty connectivity. Too bad major storms can't roll through every day to cover up their fucking incompetence and monopolistic contempt for the consumer.

OSI had more stable servers in 1997 than Comcast has now.

Out a-fucking-gain. Going to get a new modem to eliminate that as the problem source. After that, I'm going to put my foot through my phone and kick their ass.

Done. Let's see if it lasts 24 hours without downtime.

Not even 2.4 minutes.

Shitty customer satisfaction? Who cares? Our profits are up because you can't buy from anyone else.

I've seen AT&T and Google Fiber contractors on the street outside my neighborhood lately... Getting too excited.

TWC Maxx comes in November (300mbps down, 20 mbps up)

My shitty connections continue, new modem be damned. I might actually have to move to get a better ISP.

So my IP address changed today, which is unusual.

Then I ran a speedtest

We pay for 30/5, so we never get more than that. Guess the TWC Maxx upgrade is finally starting to come.

New modem didn't make a bit of difference. Their weekend internet service actually seems to have gotten worse.

Our cable started having issues last week, dropping in and out, mostly just a few minutes.

Checked the cable modem and levels were bad. Chatted with TWC, they reset my equipment:
Me: Internet still isn't working.
Her: Glad I could help, let us know if we can help in the future
Her: Click "Close Chat" to end this chat
Me: No, it isn't working.
Her: I'm glad to hear that.

Closed that chat, got a new person, who realized we had power level issues. Guy came out this morning, and was ACTUALLY ABLE TO FIX IT.

Amplifier outside the house had gone bad, he replaced it. Levels are awesome now.

Xfinity on demand is now broken. Fucking swear, I reinstalled windows 3.1 fewer times than I have to unplug xfinity hardware. Fuck Comcast and their bribes.

Still down. A service they theoretically make cash from and they still can't keep it up. Xfinity On Demand ... except when it's not.

Comcast expands data caps. No, not the caps, the people hamstrung by them.

I hate the usage of the word "fairness" by telecomms, regarding data usage. If they were concerned about fairness they would discount a bunch of elderly people who only use 20mb a month for email on the same "unlimited" usage plan everybody else has. If it is "fair" to charge the heavy users extra, then it is certainly "fair" to kick back to the light users.

Yeah, I'm torn. as a heavy internet user, I hate pay for what you use. But as someone who doesn't Netflix, I understand it.

The only way around massive bandwidth usage is setting up Redbox-like kiosk network where people can go instead, and plug in a smart device, USB drive, or portable HDD/SSD, etc.

Or you could just go back to watching the cable TV channels and stop seeking non-corporate entertainment online, like they want you to.
