At least the refs still love you. I turned on to see the last two plays of the 1st Quarter. 1 blown pass interference, 1 bad call on punt interference.

You must have missed last week when the Buckeyes were penalized 11+ times, while Purdue was penalized for the first time with 5 minutes left in the 4th.
No, they don't love us. In fact, I can prove that the head referee (Dick Honing) for the crew that always got the biggest games in the Big Ten (including OSU/Michigan every year), was not only a Michigan fan, not only lived IN Ann Arbor, but was also incredibly prejudiced against the state of Ohio.
So no, the refs are not in love with OSU.
The Steelers on the other hand...did you see that first down against Cleveland?
P.S. Why are you trying to pick out bad calls in a 38-7 blow out?

It was just that I watched all of 5 minutes of that game, the last minute of the 1st quarter, and the first minute of the 2nd, and saw 2 bad, 1 questionable calls in about 5 plays. Clearly not a large sample, but was just weird.
Just thought you'd have a comment on it being an OSU fan.
I can't believe ND is almost ranked. They barely beat 4 mediocre teams, lose to a mediocre team, and people still love them, just for being ND.

Truth be told, I didn't watch a second of the game today. I listened to bits of it here and there, but I was busy helping my in-laws move.
As for Notre Dame, I have no idea why they're ranked other than what you said. They suck and are barely squeaking through a soft schedule.

Tradition. If they were called "crappy Indiana State College X" no one would care.

Damn. Looking at the Vikes' schedule, the Steelers are the last real team we play this year. Out of two real teams.

Interesting game.
I say the Vikes got screwed on two penalties. Dugan didn't trip anyone. & DEFENSIVE delay of game? Wtf? My ass.
The red zone chokes at the end of the game were inexcusable. One was Favre's damned fault completely. The other, I'm willing to share the blame w\ Taylor. The thought occurs, though : why in the FUCK don't you have AP out there? He fumbles a shitload, but he's the #1 rusher, use him.

I had to follow the first 3 quarters and most of the 4th on my cell phone.

I think it comes down to NO and Minnesota for home field advantage in the NFC.

The trip was a bad call. I think the guy who threw it saw the play from an angle that made him believe the Steeler was tripped. I think the blocker actually got him with his arm.
The defensive delay of game call was less important. I've seen it called before, but I still don't know why it gets called. Still on 3rd and 5, it was 50/50 anyway and it resulted in no points.

I don't blame Favre for either (although, I didn't actually see it). You have AP. Why are you throwing on 2 out of 3 downs from the one yard line? Stupid play calling.
Chester Taylor is out of the University of Toledo.
Fucking Mendenhall tried his best to fumble the game away.
Still, if both teams play the rest of the season like the did today, neither will be in the Super Bowl.

We've got a saying around here that Brad Childress runs a prevent offense. We've done well IN SPITE of his idiocy. An absolute fuckwit of a hack of a loon who should've been cashiered a season ago.

First one, he just took way, way, way too fucking long to throw the ball. Got slapped out of his hand as he pumped for the third time or so. Second one was a two- or three-yard dink pass to Taylor, while Taylor was facing him w\ little to no traffic. The toss was a tad high, but nothing a semi-competent receiver couldn't handle.
& Jeff Reed tackles like a pussy.

In other news :
(i) Remember when Chicago had a team? Kyle Orton's taint must still be lingering in the air.
(ii) What in the name of Katrina's titty is happening in Miami? 24 - 3. Fucking ouch. Survivor pool might shrink a lot this week.

That's funny.
In related news, my AT&T rep's boss looks just like him and he's an incompetent boob.

Yes he does. Our punter is a different story.
(i) Remember when Chicago had a team? Kyle Orton's taint must still be lingering in the air.
I have a friend in my poker league whose a big Chicago fan, and he argued with me that the Steelers didn't hand Chicago the game in week 2, but Chicago is just that good. Monday night I'll be asking him if we can now stop pretending that Chicago is any good. They won't even make the playoffs.
(ii) What in the name of Katrina's titty is happening in Miami? 24 - 3. Fucking ouch. Survivor pool might shrink a lot this week.
I was stunned by that too. Of course, we both spoke too soon.

I think Ricky Williams starting celebrating at halftime in the locker room & passed around a few blunts. They demonstrated zero defensive consistency in the second half. Fucking hell. So much for the survivor pool shrinking.

My heart positively bleeds. This is karma coming to your town for starting the trend of making counting cards a bootable offense. Fuck you, you fucking fuckwits.

Alrighty, survivor pool time again ...
There's ten folk left, one of which is me. This week has me w\ a couple thoughts, but first, the preconditions.
Used : New Orleans, Minnesota, Dallas, N.Y Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, San Diego
Games this week for teams I've not used (unused in bold)...
Houston* at Buffalo
Cleveland at Chicago
Seattle at Dallas
St. Louis at Detroit**
San Francisco at Indianapolis*
Miami at NY Jets
Denver at Baltimore
Oakland at San Diego
Jacksonville at Tennessee
Carolina at Arizona*
Atlanta at New Orleans
* = decent bets
** = just for the sheer fuck of it -- c'mon, they're playing the Rams, for Christ's sake
Houston, Chicago, Indy, Rams/Lions, Arizona, Jacksonville look to be the only semi-clear calls. Chicago looks beyond bad right now. If someone forced me to pick between the Rams & Lions, I'd have to go Lions (but seriously, when will they have a better chance of winning this season). The Rams look that shitty. Jacksonville's shaky. I still want to save Indy for later on. There's still ten of us in this thing.
Arizona looks to be a reasonably safe bet. Houston looks slightly less safe (but relatively good chances nonetheless). Indy's a slam dunk unless Alex Smith plays for four quarters like he did for two quarters this past week, only this time against a better D.
There's still something in me that wants to say the Lions are more together of a team than the Rams. & the winning strategy is picking generally shitty teams that have a favourable matchup. Maximizing the minimums.
Thoughts?

Pretty much agreed, Houston/Indy/SD/Arizona/NO look safe.
Detroit for the pick that isn't safe, but will win.

There is always the chance that Matt Moore starts over Jake. That's the only reason you have to worry about the Arizona game being worrisome.
With Jake, easy call.
