The failure of the cops in uvaldi has me of a mind of "what were those worthless pieces of shit even there for?" Because it surely wasn't to protect people. They went out of their way to make sure they didn't do that. It must have been just to be present in the uniform, and collect the paycheck. So.... if you think about it, what's the point of lifeguards? The ones at the "Y," or any public beach, aren't going to risk their own lives for minimum wage. But a lot of places can't get insurance unless they have lifeguards.... so basically they're bodies in the high chairs that blow the whistle at kids roughhousing, right?
