The mental health system in this country failed him and his family. But in recent months, Self had been wrestling with mental illness, Austin Rammell, a pastor at Venture Church, told WSOC. A family friend for 16 years, he told the station that Self was beset by anxiety, depression and mental breakdowns. Sometimes he would go days without leaving his bed, Rammell said.
“He’s been taking precautions. He had all the guns removed from his house, so he was making steps that were rational steps.”
Texas shooting suspect's choice of guns complicates debate over assault rifles
The reality that weapons not included in proposed assault-rifle bans can still exact a double-digit death toll further complicates a wrenching national debate about how to prevent future tragedies.

What’s the solution?
Ban sharp knives and ones with points.
This is going to get shot down. Also, the judge that put this in place should be impeached. It is legal for you to build your own gun at home as long as it is not being sold or you are not a prohibited possessor. This is left wing activism.Leisher wrote: 3D gun plans are blocked from being downloaded for now.
Thing is, they're already out there.
My wife: well, they blocked them for now.Leisher wrote: 3D gun plans are blocked from being downloaded for now.

In 2013, the US government made Defense Distributed take the blueprints down, saying they would violate International Traffic in Arms Regulations, potentially allowing someone in a country to which the US doesn't sell weapons to download the plans to make their own guns. Wilson sued the federal government in 2015, and the Trump administration settled the case in June.
But Lasnik found the government didn't follow procedure when agreeing to the settlement.
"Plaintiffs have shown a likelihood of success on the merits of their Administrative Procedure Act claim," the judge wrote.
My understanding is that you can get plans to every gun manufactured via the patent office. The issue in question is much more akin to that than selling arms to a foreign country. I also don't understand how a judge can reverse a decision on a case that has been settled when neither of the parties of that case have filed anything. If a state's AG wants to sue, then they need to start anew. Otherwise, what use is a court ruling? If anyone can come in not related to your case and get it overturned, what's the point of having a court system?TheCatt wrote: Hmmm, seems like he has legal basis of some kind:In 2013, the US government made Defense Distributed take the blueprints down, saying they would violate International Traffic in Arms Regulations, potentially allowing someone in a country to which the US doesn't sell weapons to download the plans to make their own guns.
