Yeah, they killed half the people so far, but I hear they did it quickly without a lot of pain. And next year? I bet we won't even KNOW we're dying when they do it! Although, I hear some people got selected for medical testing by Dr. Mengele, MAN - Free health care!

I was glad that Eric Ebron was drafted high, good luck to him. He was an absolute BEAST for UNC the past couple of years. Just phenomenal. Will be interesting to see how he does.
I have no clue why Detroit drafted him as they have zero need at that position, and he's not a blocker. I did hear that he was very high on the Steelers' list.
The other shoe drops for Cleveland.
Apparently they knew last night, and still passed on Sammy. Wow. I would have at least tried to get Stevie Johnson, who Buffalo just traded.

The Browns' hierachy made its Day 1 draft decisions with owner Jimmy Haslam and general manager Ray Farmer having full knowledge of Gordon's pending status of the positive test, sources told ESPN Senior NFL Analyst Chris Mortensen. The team has been targeting one or two receivers in the remaining rounds of the draft.
The Browns' coaching staff, meanwhile, was unaware of the situation until ESPN.com issued its report, sources said
Oh, Browns. You're so... Browns.
It's not me, it's someone else.
He's another passing threat, and he is awesome. As long as Stafford has time to get the ball out of his hands, he has a lot of targets this year.Leisher wrote:I have no clue why Detroit drafted him as they have zero need at that position, and he's not a blocker. Yeah, but they just signed Pettigrew to a big contract, and their defense is Suh, and pretty much nobody else.TheCatt wrote:He's another passing threat, and he is awesome. They needed defense.

Come on, man. Do you know how much it costs to send an internal memo? They got to save as much cash as they can so Johnny Mediocrity can fuck them over a barrel on his contract and be not just a bust, but an overpaid bust ... the best kind to watch.

You're fucking ignorant aren't u?! U know rookie contracts are pretty much slotted for where they are picked and are all for four years.Malcolm wrote:Come on, man. But I'm sure u already knew that cause u sure talk like u do.
WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
I'm as well informed as the Browns coaching staff. I base that statement on the fact that we hear about player suspensions at the same time. Only four years? They better start saving up.

I sense that the optimism bubble has burst.
That bubble doesn't burst. It just deflates once the season starts, and then begins filling up again immediately after the Super Bowl.
So I was watching post draft stuff on ESPN, and I was a bit befuddled.
Mel Kiper Jr. said the Steelers had one of the best drafts overall. WTF? We needed WR and CB, and only drafted one of each, and that was in the 5th and 6th rounds respectively.
Then Bill Polian called the Browns out for being a "draft loser". WTF? Sorry, but get two picks in the first round, grab the draft's top rated CB, get the most polarizing asshole in years, sell tons of tickets and jerseys because of it, AND get a first round pick for next year's draft? Sign me up for that "loss".

Time will tell. Draft ratings don't really mean shit. It's what those players contribute over the years that determines if a draft was successful or not.
I wish ESPN had been around in the late 60s-early 70s. It would have been interesting to see how they rated the Steelers' drafts, specifically the 1974 class that contained 4 future hall of fame players.
On a personal note, you know what the most depressing thing about the Manziel pick is? I honestly have been pulling for Cleveland to do well out of loyalty to my friends/family that are Browns fans. These people are die hard and that organization feeds them a shit sandwich to eat year after year. They deserve a winner, and I've always promised them that if they ever reach a Super Bowl I will root for them. However, if that little asshole is behind center, I can't and won't.
I can cheer for a team to support my family, but I can't cheer for Manziel. If I did that, I'd feel so classless and dirty that I might as well start rooting for the Wolverines.

My phone just got an update from Sportscenter that read: "Browns fire coach Mike Brown, name David Griffin GM."
Freudian slip.

Remember when Michael Sam came out? Remember how he just wanted to be a player and not treated special?
Well, he apparently has been shooting a reality show, and [url=http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutd ... -winfrey-s
-network-204836308.html]the NFL (from players to reporters) are starting to sour on him.[/url]
Honestly, I don't blame them. It certainly does feel like he's exploiting his own sexual orientation for profit and exposure.
Jason Collins didn't do this shit.
