The original? Now? No.

However, that's the sequel. I never played it, so I don't know if it's worth it or not. Per the reviews I remember, I think the humans were dull to play as were either the Aliens or the Predator, and one was awesome to play (again, the aliens or the predator).

Bummer.

Metro 2033 so far has been like playing like a Marine in AvP. Only with apocalypse and Nazis and some kind of Psychic thing I don't completely understand yet.

I bought Metro 2033, but I won't get to it until I'm done with Red Faction: Guerrilla.

EVERYTHING they do is in the interest of making money. Too many startups with the GAME being the priority were bought, eliminated and their games modified for maximum profit. Etc.

Steam killed Counter Strike. Counter Strike was the most played online FPS ever. HUGE number of servers. LARGE community. Many add-ons that made cheating damn near impossible. Many variations of the game to choose from (War Craft mod was wacky). Then EA bought Valve, got rid of WON, made everyone load Steam and NONE of the anti-cheat software worked. 9 out of 10 servers I tried had cheaters. You were FORCED to upgrade to the latest version of CS even though the version just prior to that was far more popular. You couldn't play it any more. (The latest version added shields and changed many of the gun physics, etc) No more War Craft mod, etc. Granted, all those issues might be fixed now. I don't know. I uninstalled Half Life and just don't care enough to try Steam. It was buggy, FAR too invasive, and I won't participate because they didn't do it for ME, the end user. They did it to make sure their wallets got fatter. CS started out free. They did it for free. And it was damn damn damn good. Then EA bought it and made sure they made money from it. Made it too hard to play. Had to play THEIR way. Not the way 100's of thousands of people were already happy playing it.
I play CS:S every now and then(today). Never seen a shield. They all use anit-cheating software. too.

Oh good, you wrote that it 4 years ago. Way to click a thread and not pay attention to what page I was on.

Does anyone want Half-Life 2 and/or Half-Life 2: Episode 1? I have gifts to give and the timing is perfect for the Steam contest going on.

First come, first serve. I'm asking some folks off the board too.

I don't have them, so if no one else wants them, I would certainly take them.

Random thought, I LOVE Day of Defeat:Source. Just an all around great online team-FPS.

Did anyone play Call of Duty 5? Does that still have a good WW2 online multi mode?

Yearly ridiculous sale going on right now. Still sorting through all 100+ games, but there are some gems.

The big sale looks like it will go until Jan 2, so wait and shop the daily deals, as already discounted stuff may get super low cut for the daily deal.

Today:

Battlefield Bad Company 2 stands out.
Great multiplayer, and for less than 7 bucks? I bought it at 20 and didn't regret it, and that was last week.

Edit: I also added Medival 2 Total War, also for 7 bucks, as I can't find my disk and was itching to try some of the user mods.

Day 2's sale just began.

The biggies from the daily featured items:
The Witcher - $5 (If you've never played it, do so. Great RPG.)
Bioshock 2 - $10
The latest Tomb Raider - $5

All of the other offers, the packs and catalogs, are available until Jan 2nd. Some of those are amazing, like the SquareEnix/Eidos catalog which is 88% off from $606 to $75 for their whole catalog of games.
