Browns add another QB.

Long story short: Most of their QBs are hurt, so they signed Huntley, probably to get them through preseason games.

The most QBs ever on a 53 man roster is 4. Currently, the Browns have 6 including Watson, but we're far from the 53 man roster.

I imagine Huntley will be cut prior to the season and Gabriel or Sanders moved to the practice squad.

Stranger, when can they cut ties with Watson?

Both Pickett and Gabriel have hamstring issues, so not expected to play Friday. Huntley's here to play in that game. Should get a pretty good look at Sanders that game. After that, who knows what the Browns do. Nothing would surprise me.

Realistically he will be on the roster this year and next. Now the cap relief they get from this insurance policy may or may not move that up a year. But again, who knows when it comes to the Browns.

NFL thread?

Knowles is a hell of a coach. I hope Franklin rubs off on him...

I hate that he went to NE. Oh, and the guy the Steelers took in round 2 instead of Henderson is struggling in camp. (I hope this ages poorly...)

Steelers' Heyward will sit out over contract.

FYI, they don't have a great record when he isn't playing.

The Cleveland Browns on Monday named veteran Joe Flacco their starting quarterback to open the 2025 season. The decision brings an end to what opened as a four-way quarterback competition but had an anticlimactic finish with Flacco emerging as the runaway favorite.
...
Flacco, 40, has taken the overwhelming majority of first-team reps in training camp as fourth-year quarterback Kenny Pickett has been limited since suffering a hamstring injury July 26. Rookie third-round pick Dillon Gabriel has also received first-team reps, but he missed the preseason opener with a hamstring injury. Rookie fifth-rounder Shedeur Sanders, who has not received any first-team reps, missed the team's second preseason game because of an oblique injury suffered last week.

Stranger and I were discussing that last night. Also, my BIL told me to bet the Browns over, which is 4 1/2. Yeah, I could buy that. I mean, they play Tomlin twice...

We also discussed Richardson getting benched in Indy for Daniel Jones (oof!).

One thing I wanted to bring up to Catt is the Cobra Commanders shopping their starting RB. I didn't realize how deep you guys were at that position.

Now I've got Ice Cube in my head.

I was looking at their schedule and I think it's doable. Titans, Fins, 49ers (who are always hurt), Vikings (McCarthy might suck), and Pack all go there and all have question marks. Ok, the Pack are pretty solid, but what if Love is hurt?

Bengals and Ravens both lose in Cleveland a lot for some reason. They get Tomlin twice. They're at the Pats, Raiders, and Jets.

Under 4 1/2 is actually the dog, so even Vegas thinks they can pull it off.

Commanders trading Robinson to 49ers

Fuckwads just screwed up CMC and Robinson for fantasy players.

Jerry Jones throws Parsons' agent under the bus.

He claims the offer they made would have made Micah the highest paid non-QB in the NFL.
"When we wanted to send the details to the agent, the agent told us to stick it up our ass," Jones said. "Just so you're clear."
