And the Browns trade up to select Sanders.
What the actual fuck is going on in Cleveland? You can't carry 7 QBs...

Lololol. Too cheap to let go, any possible starting ng QB is with a 5th

Taking another QB in front of him though...that's a choice. I wonder if they were afraid Pittsburgh was going to take him?

yeah. It's weird, but QBs get injured so may as well have 2 rookie prospects. Redskins did it with rg3 and cousins

Steelers take Will Howard.
I have mixed feelings.
I love seeing Buckeyes with the Steelers, but I fear Tomlin will waste them.
Interestingly, all 5 of the Steelers' pick are B1G.
Also, 14 OSU players have been selected. Tied for most in the common era. Seth McLaughlin is still out there as the #1 C available, so they're likely to break the record.
The Ravens just took a kicker in the 6th round. The Justin Tucker era is over. I wonder where he and Watson will end up next year? Prison?

This is such a weird draft.. I've got to wonder if good ol' Jimmy stepped in and told them to draft him.

It's a 5th round. You get a starting QB at that? You've won the lottery. It doesn't work out, oh well, missed out on a 2nd in the rotation lineman

I kept thinking that this was an example of Karma having the son pay for the sins of the father, because I was sure enjoying hearing Schadeur wasn't getting picked. I've always considered Dion a piece of shit, and knowing this hurt him too is what made it enjoyable.

I believe Sanders' ceiling is Jameis Winston. He's a chucker that takes a lot of sacks. His line has taken a ton of blame, but he wasn't exactly playing top notch teams every week. Meanwhile, Will Howard is a 5 year starter who played the best of the best, has better stats, more mobility, and was 2nd in accuracy to Sanders, but is projected as a career backup.
Think about this: The talking heads said Cam Ward would have been the 6th QB in last year's draft. Sanders was the 6th QB in this draft.
It is ALL about his dad. Nobody is talking about this kid if Deion wasn't daddy.

Most notable 5th round QB picks over the past 30 or so years.
I hope Howard breaks this trend.
Related: Have you seen the camp videos of Sanders and Cam Ward? To say they don't like one another is an understatement. Cam told Sanders, "My completion percentage would be high like yours if all I did was throw to checkdowns like you."

BTW, Quinn Ewers went in the 7th.
What a whacky thing college football has become.
Quinn Ewers went to OSU getting the first $1M NIL deal. Then left when he was told he couldn't start over Heisman Trophy finalist CJ Stroud. He ends up in Texas and gets beat by that same OSU team, being strip sacked by his former roommate Jack Sawyer, and then almost goes undrafted.
Kyle McCord, who wouldn't have been the starter if Ewers had stuck around, gets told they're bringing in competition for him, so he jets to Syracuse and then becomes a 5th round pick and probable backup on the defending SB champs.
Will Howard comes in to replace McCord, wins a title, and gets drafted after McCord.
Also, here's that Cam Ward-Sanders interaction I mentioned:

The best he could come back with was that he's getting paid by Gatorade?
Fucking Cleveland. . . they should have let him continue to rot.
Was anyone outside of Colorado ever interested in him?

I dont get whats going on in Pitt. I'm sure they're impressed with Howard, i would be too. But i don't see them going into the season with the QB's they have and starting a 6th round rookie.

Nobody does because it's a poorly run franchise.
However, here's the inside word:
If they stick, the QB room is Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and Will Howard. Rudolph would be the #1, and I'd bet Thompson the #2. Around halfway through the year, you'd see Howard get playing time.
If Rodgers comes in, Skylar will be shown the door. There's also a chance they could trade for Kirk Cousins.
I'd honestly be fine going into the season with Rudolph, Thompson, and Howard (sounds like a law firm). Let's tank, get that stupid winning record talk to go away, see what Howard has, and trade TJ to a contender for big picks around halfway through the season. I'd say trade Cam too, but ONLY if he wants to be traded.
Steelers need a jolt of youth and to figure out QB.
Now, what are the Browns going to do with 5 QBs?

I still feel like they have a deal with Rodgers but he doesn't want to come in till after June mini camps because he's Aaron Rogers and he's above all of that. That way he doesn't look bad not going to it. Completely speculative on my part though.

Million dollar question. First, lets knock it down to 4, Watson is out. He ain't seeing the field and the Browns will get $40+ million cap relief.
With the 4 left.. i honestly think Pickett is going to get first shot at starting, probably opening day starter. I think of all QB's Gabriel is probably the safest to stay on the roster. There is no way they give up on a 3rd round pick before his rookie year. They have a history of keeping their draft picks at least the first year, so does this mean Sanders is safe?? I have no clue! They clearly think higher of Gabriel than Sanders, but who knows what happens once the pads are on. Flacco is there to be the soft landing just in case none of these guys end up being serviceable.
So my guess is that they will keep all 4 for most of preseason, see if one of the rookies can be good enough to at least be the #2 or if a team is desperate for a QB. They could maybe move Pickett or Flacco, maybe even Sanders if someone comes calling. But i doubt they keep 4 going into the season. But since i've been wrong about everything the Browns are doing this offseason, it will probably be Sanders starting week 1 and the circus will start all over again.

They're going to have to get rid of the message therapist and make room for a PR team to document how "Legendary" Sanders is going to be...
