Let me defend him here with common sense:
Are we to seriously believe adult language is never used in these closed door meetings? End of the day, this was leaked to the MSM to make Trump look bad. (Something he doesn't need help with.) Obama essentially said the same thing about the south publicly and privately, but the MSM made excuses for him. Granted he didn't say "shitholes", but he did insult their core beliefs, values, and rights. Which is worse? Is one really better than another?

Trump is a blowhard with zero filter whose in way over his head. However, in no way, shape, or form is he truly getting fair treatment compared to previous presidents. Honestly, I don't even know if he deserves it due to his personality, but the office does.

The next question is.... is the White House "broken" simply because so many people wish it to be so?

I agree he isn't getting a fair shake. Also, it was really stupid for him to say this thinking the Democrats in that room wouldn't make political hay out of it. The press is out to get him. And he seems to be doing everything in his power to help them out on that.

I would bet a dollar that before he said it, 99% of Americans... who have traveled... would agree that there are parts of the world that are shitholes.

Why is that the U.S.' responsibility? Everyone wants us to keep our nose out of their business, but they sure as fuck don't want the checks to stop coming. Why exactly should we be handing out free money to the world? To keep peace in that region? HAHAHAHA!

Point being, Trump did something on behalf of this country and its ally. The world condemned him, but still wants him to cut them a check? Meanwhile, we're cutting checks to Palestinians to help them and in return they refuse to even sit at a negotiation table with Israel? A move that could end their plight.

This isn't even a defense of Trump. It's a defense of common sense, economic responsibility, personal responsibility, and peace. If you keep paying people to act like assholes, they're going to keep acting like assholes.

I am of the school of thought that Ben Shapiro espouses with Trump. He's a hammer. Sometimes he hits things that need hitting. Sometimes he hits puppies.

I've been calling Europe a shithole for 10 years, and Athens a shithole for 30. Trump did not bunch up my panties.

Athens was a literal shithole. Went into a bar in 1992, went to the bathroom, and the toilet was literally a hole in the floor, with two footprints on either side embedded in the concrete so you could target the hole just right. A literal shithole.

Hell, major cities in Malaysia run their sewage on either side of the road in open tranches, letting gravity run it all down to the ocean. Another literal shithole.

Given what we knew about Trump up to this point... even up to the point of his running for President... didn't you kind of assume he had at least one porn star under a NDA?

I guess since I didn't vote for him, nor feel the need to lead the charge for his impeachment, I just really don't care. Just kind of, "Yeah? I knew he was a reprobate. This sort of story is kind of baked in for me."

You may very well be right. Parts of the story seem a little out there. But they are finding evidence of the payoff, so something seems to be there.

But again, for me it's like debating whether or not a coke head snorted this or that particular line.
