Comcast endears itself to PS4 + HBOGO users.
Sony announced the much-anticipated arrival of the HBO Go app on PS4 earlier this week. Those who had been hoping the PS4 version would bring a resolution to the problem that has existed on PS3 for a year were sorely disappointed; Comcast continues to prevent its customers from accessing to the streaming service despite competitors like AT&T, Verizon, Time Warner Cable, DirecTV, and many others allowing it.
Someone tell me again how I'm supposed to have sympathy for these fucking doucheholes.

As far as I know, you are right.
We canceled TWC TV and Phone. AT&T is supposedly building GigaPower in our neighborhood. We'll see if it happens.

When I cancelled my TV and took the boxes back to the local office, the lady behind the counter was being rude to me because she couldn't talk me into keeping them. Startled by her rudeness, I said, "You realize I am still a Time Warner internet customer, right?" Because I didn't think she should be being a cunt to a customer's face. She didn't say anything.

You realize most of Time Warner's customers have little to no alternative choices for cable, so they don't in general have to give a fuck about you. Their customer service could include a kick to the balls every time you talk to them and it still wouldn't matter.

AT&T and Google fiber BOTH announced they are coming to my area this year.
TWC will increase max broadband speeds from 50Mbps to 300Mbps
Internet speeds will be boosted to as high as 300 megabits per second.

TWC TWC noted that customers now receiving standard Internet service (15 Mbps) will receive up to 50 Mbps.
"Extreme" service customers (30 Mbps) will receive up to 200 Mbps.
"Ultimate" customers (100 Mbps) will receive up to 300 Mbps.
There is no extra charge for the faster speed, TWC said.
Extreme is what I have right now. it says Ultimate has 100Mbps, but I've only ever seen 50Mbps advertised around here.
Competition is amazing, isn't it?

Comcast is also calling off a related transaction with Charter Communications.
"Today, we move on," Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said. "Of course, we would have liked to bring our great products to new cities, but we structured this deal so that if the government didn't agree, we could walk away."
Go fuck yourself, Brian. You wanted to roll out the same shitty product you have to more people and charge more with a guarantee of virtually no competition. Rot in hell, fuckface.

I got 2 calls from Sirius XM today. That was annoying. Their caller ID doesn't say their name but gives a local number. Wonder how they do that.

Another proposed merger. Charter + Xfinity is allegedly going to compete with Comcrap. By "compete" I mean "divvy up every major metropolitan area and agree not to cross sell in each other's territories."
A merged Time Warner and Charter wouldn’t top Comcast, but their combined heft could set the stage for something resembling a true rivalry, although they still wouldn’t compete directly in that many markets.
Thank god for that. We wouldn't want any competition to drive prices down.

Comcast hires new Chief Product Officer who looks a bit like Dave Attell.
Satchell also previously worked at Microsoft where his work included leading its XNA game development program through the Xbox 360's early days, plus talking smack about Nintendo and Sony on the side.
He once said Sony should "copy Xbox Live a little more closely", advice he can now bring to Comcast's next-gen cable boxes and apps.
Ouch.

6/3 - Ordered a Triple Play.
6/12 - Dude came (1 hour late, and updated the system so it didnt look late). And TWC's system went down, so he couldn't activate anything.
6/12 - System came up around Noon, Internet/TV worked, phone didn't. We had a # port, so I figured I'd check on Monday (6/15). Complained to chat, they said the guy wasn't late. I showed them the original order info, and they gave me the $20 credit.
6/15 - Phone doesn't work. Chat with TWC, and they said there is no record of a phone order. Talked to 5 different chat agents, only the 5th could help. I asked for a credit, he gives me an entire month of service for free. Not bad.
They're still a mess, but at least I got credits for complaining.

And again. Still no one else I can buy internet from in my town. This is all somehow legal, probably through bribery. I'd call customer service, except for that tiny detail and the fact their customer service sucks.
