Trying to reconcile how wanting a bigger group going in for tickets makes one a "commie."

I called you Obama because I was wondering what would happen if we really just kept asking people to join our group person by person. Eventually, the whole country would be in the same pool and we'd all win just enough to pay more in taxes than we'd win.
As for her, I don't have control over her family's thing, that's on them. Still, if you decided to go grab some tickets outside our pool, I don't see the problem. Catt obviously did. Ditto for my wife.

To a degree. It's when you start to be annoyed with someone who has elected not to join in your group and instead competes with you that you swing over into being a commie. A capitolist doesn't mind competition, and may even invite it in order to better fine-tune their own efforts through the challenge of it. A communist reacts to competition with confusion, anger, and fear.

Rockefeller was a capitalist. He fucking HATED competition. From what I've seen, a communist wants people to play by some arbitrary set of rules, usually for the "good of society." The commie is shocked, SHOCKED that someone wouldn't sacrifice themselves for the good of the state, so long as "someone" isn't them. The capitalist understands that goddamn near everything has a price, & when it comes to your own good or your neighbour's good, you pick yours 99.9% of the time when push comes to shove.

Okay, let me rephrase that: a good capitalist doesn't fear or hate competition. I don't think of Rockefeller as a good capitalist. He was a Robber Baron, and they were not good for or to capitalism as a whole. Those tactics usually do not work out well in the long run, and do not advance the overall goal of fostering a vibrant and profitable marketplace. Even if from time to time events coincide to make them good for a handful of individuals for a time.
In the end, a good capitalist knows that when you damage the marketplace, you damage your own long-term prospects.
