To devil's advocate... a gun probably would have left more than superficial wounds.

Ya. The rallying cry will be "Good thing it wasn't a gun". And, it's hard to argue that it's not a good thing. What I'd like to know is if the parents did own guns, but made sure their kid couldn't get to them. Thus proving you can own guns, even around crazy people, and they still don't kill people if you aren't an idiot about it.

I think the fact that in England they are now pushing for stricter knife control should be all the info anyone needs to know that they will never ever stop attempting to further disarm no matter what they get.

They were arguing against the idea that a good guy with a gun can beat a bad guy with a gun because someone without a gun stopped someone with a gun. So good guys don't need guns, apparently. Waiting for them to argue that this means we can disarm the military now. To paraphrase Ben Shapiro; every day I think, things can't get any stupider than they are today and I wake up and think, things were so much smarter yesterday.

Well, I don't think your statement is entirely accurate. Bond was set, but that doesn't mean the guy was going to be able to walk.

It's entirely accurate. Bond was set. That means that had he come up with the money, he was free to walk.

You can argue it'd be tough for him to come up with 10% of 2,000,000, but that's a moo point. The option was there for him to walk.
