He still stands by it. Just like he stood by as the game ended.

I think I posted earlier about not knowing that guy was at UNC. Apparently my memory doesn't store things any more.

Justin Fields was trending on X because of this and all of them supporting him. Nice.

KC will win by 2 and the Raiders K missed three FGs and then fumbled the game away. 14 straight wins in one possession games. How long can they keep doing this shit?

This is a fun ass game. These guys are so frozen they can barely move and tackling is an adventure.

That pitch back to Allen was awesome.

GOAT hits 18 straight years of winning seasons.

Leisher has to be thrilled with that level of success

That's an interesting question.

The answer is obviously no, but it's a different reason why. The Jets ownership is complete garbage and the organization sucks from the top down.

The Steelers have a different culture and winning is expected. The owner isn't awesome, but he's not a detriment. Also, the front office is excellent. They're as much responsible for Tomlin's winning percentage as he is, and I would honestly say that about any coach.

So, while I don't mind the winning regular season games, it's accepting mediocrity that always has me at odds with Tomlin. The blowout losses in the playoffs, the lack of anyone interested in his coaches (Art Smith doesn't count - he's a 1 year rental), he physically got involved in a game (and being 100% real, if he was white, he'd be out of the league for that), the lack of discipline in his players (on the field and in the locker room), etc.

I will always concede he's a motivator of men. He's awesome at that. However, he's not a good evaluator of talent (and to be fair, neither is Belichick), he hires shit coaches, he runs an undisciplined locker room, he has a losing challenge record...by a lot, his clock management sucks (which was on display again this weekend), and his Xs and Os skills are questionable.

The goal of every team in the NFL is to win Super Bowls. There are no trophies for having winning records in the regular season. Thus, I submit to you that the Steelers and the Jets/Browns/etc. have all had the same past decade and change. The Steelers may have won a few more regular season games, but otherwise it's the same results.

It feels so cliche' to say Cleveland got the full Jameis experience last night, but it was so true. Franchise record 497 pass yards, 4 TD's, 3 INT's (2 for TD and almost a 3rd).

But damn, this brand of football is so much more fun to watch than anything Watson has ever done us. It's almost like last year when Flacco came off the bench and started throwing TD's all over the place, but also lots of picks, quite a few for 6.

Just makes me feel better about Stefanski as coach, just give the guy a competent QB and he'll figure out a way to make things work. Watson just somehow forgot how to play football all together.

It was indeed a wildly entertaining game.

Jameis is not your long term answer, but he is a fun stopgap.

Fantasy update:
-The team I advise on lost, but still clinched a playoff spot.
-Family league I've got a winning record, but I'm out of the playoffs currently. One game to go and I play one of the league's worst teams, but I need help to get in.
-Work league, I clinched the playoffs 2 weeks ago, but the division is still up for grabs. The 2nd place guy plays the other division's top team this week, while I play one of the worst teams. Thing is, my QB, a RB, and a WR are all on bye, and I lost JK Dobbins for the year this week too.
-Me and Stranger's league. The playoff teams are set. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before with a week to go. Stranger clinched his terrible division a week ago. Mine is still up for grabs. I could win the division via tie breaker if the top guys loses and I suck. However, again my team is decimated by injuries and the last bye week.

No idea how this all ends, but 3 playoff appearances in 4 leagues with a fighter's chance at the last one...not a horrible year.

I get your point, but it sure feels better to have winning records than losing records as a fan.

Yeah, stick with Jameis until you're out from under the Watson contract.

I go to 1 game a year right now, and it was 10x better going to that game and winning (Thanks, Watson!) than most of the losses we went to (One was a icy/sleety game against KC where we got blown out, but it was fun)

Leisher, you do make a good point. Browns have more playoff victories than the Steelers over the last 7 years. Tomlin is trash, he needs to be disposed of properly.

I know you're doing the "I want my opponent to get rid of someone I believe in" thing, but the stat you cite is true and cannot be ignored.

I will admit that I believe I've changed my tune a bit on Tomlin. I think he can be the HC of a SB winning team again, but he needs to accept two truths about himself:
1. He cannot win without a good coaching staff, and he has not done well at assembling one.
2. He sucks at picking draft picks and should give input, but ultimately leave it to the GM.(His son attending Maryland has seen us draft a few guys from that school instead of better options, and none have worked out.)
