...
A Staten Island man was arrested at his home Tuesday after allegedly threatening to kill anti-Trump protesters, politicians and law-enforcement officers in the days following the presidential election, federal prosecutors said.
Brian Maiorana, 54 years old, was charged with making threatening communications and was being held in federal custody.
At an appearance in federal court in Brooklyn on Tuesday night, federal prosecutors said that Joint Terrorism Task Force officers found a glock handgun, ammunition, a crossbow and other weapons at Mr. Maiorana’s residence after they arrested him. The task force is made up of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and New York Police Department officers.
Prosecutors said that Mr. Maiorana was displeased with the presidential election and had also allegedly urged others to kill protesters and politicians. The prosecutors also said he was previously convicted of a felony sex crime in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Maiorana’s attorney, James Darrow, declined to comment on the case when reached by phone but said at Tuesday night’s hearing that he would seek bail for his client.
The Associated Press and other media outlets said on Saturday that Democratic candidate Joe Biden had won enough Electoral College votes to secure the presidency, defeating President Trump, a Republican, in the 2020 election.
Mr. Trump’s campaign and the Republican Party have filed lawsuits in battleground states challenging balloting procedures. Trump supporters have also held rallies around the country questioning the fairness of the election.
Anti-Trump protesters also staged protests in New York City and other cities last week after the Nov. 3 election.
According to a criminal complaint, Mr. Maiorana used social-media posts in the days after the election to encourage the use of pipe bombs against demonstrators and the detonation of a bomb at an FBI building.
“The carnage needs to come in the form of extermination of anyone that claims to be democrat … as well as their family members,” a Nov. 5 post by Mr. Maiorana read, according to the complaint.
The complaint also said that Mr. Maiorana made online references to literature favored by neo-Nazis and used the term “Jew York.”

People rely so heavily on anecdotal evidence to make up minds, how can you say "Russia interfered with the election, we need laws!" and not also point a finger at people like that?

I'm fine with that. Let's just be China. You want to make stupid statements online? At least we know who you are.

To be honest, I think I'm fine with it too.
I'm all for dicks outing themselves. The problem, however, is who is a dick and who isn't can be very subjective.

Yep, we'll know who is saying what, and those people will get cancelled for not having the same opinion as the masses. If a person stated publicly that they wouldn't vote for Biden, before they could even finish that thought they were sexist, Trump loving, Nazis, and so on.
I don't know that making sure we know who says what is awesome in a society so divided, and where reasonable discourse is completely broken. Not to mention where so many moderately thinking people simply refuse to engage the crazies.

Yeah... The sock puppets stir up >0% of the shit. If people were forced to be civil when they talked politics, I think things would be less devisive.

Trump Drops Legal Challenge in Arizona
By Sara Randazzo
Attorneys for the Trump campaign said Friday they’re no longer seeking a court’s intervention into the presidential race in Arizona.
The Trump campaign, along with the state and national Republican party, sued in Arizona last week, alleging some in-person votes cast in Maricopa County were improperly rejected.
At a daylong hearing Thursday, Kory Langhofer, an attorney for the Trump campaign, made clear the campaign wasn’t alleging any voter fraud but instead claimed some poll workers submitted ballots that had errors that voters weren’t given the opportunity to fix. The number of votes at issue was less than 200, and Mr. Langhofer said at the close of the hearing that they wouldn’t ask election officials to recount those ballots if they had no ability to affect the outcome of the race.
