It'd just be too obvious if he won every year. Gotta give the white coaches a chance, too.
I laughed.

Someone broke down the stats for the top three vote getters for defensive player of the year and it's interesting.

All three are beasts and all deserve the award. Their teams aren't the same without them on the field.

That being said, just based on stats, Watt should have won. Based on team success, all three had their seasons ended the same week. So, why did Myles win?

Maybe accounting for Garret getting more double teams? I dunno.

Watching this game with a house full of non-football fans has been annoying. I've retreated to the basement for the second half.

I hate Maroon 5, so no one can be worse than that. It was just meh. Alicia Keys was a nice surprise, and everyone loves Ludacris + Lil Jon, right? ok, maybe just me.

I will say, even with the new OT rules explained multiple times, I was still anxious about the clock running at the end.

SF teammates says they were unaware of how playoff OT was different: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/395 ... bowl-rules

That code above enters a contest of some kind from one of the commercials. But I think there's a 24 hour limit to enter or something.

Why the fuck did Schefter post that? It's just going to feed the idiots who think it's all rigged.

You know who didn't want an OT game? Everyone behind the show Tracker who debuted after the game at 11 p.m. EST.

They should put her in the HoF now.

I was too until they said, "This is the first quarter of overtime" then it all clicked. However, that was with a minute to go or so.

The fact that the Chiefs had been discussing it since preseason is why they had less talent, yet won. Attention to detail is how teams overcome their weaknesses and become great.

My biggest takeaways last night:
-Tony Romo should be thanking Kelce for shoving Reed. It overshadowed how awful he was last night. His performance should be far more discussed than it is right now. He was getting players' names wrong, repeating himself endlessly, got the OT rules wrong, etc. I loved Romo when he first got in the booth, but he's fallen off a cliff. Only Buck and Aikman should call SBs for the foreseeable future.
-The Taylor Swift fans in my home were confused by the "postgame festivities". They were expecting more musical acts.
-They also couldn't have cared less about the trophy presentation and whatnot. They only cared about Kelce and Swift's post game hug.
-X (from what I saw) and TikTok (my daughters saw) discussed Kelce's shove of a 65 yo man endlessly and wondered if he does that with the world watching, what does he do to Taylor when nobody is watching. It's a fair question.
-Speaking of Travis, how fucking annoying was he in the postgame during the trophy presentation? He comes off like such a douchebag. I think he single handedly is making KC the team we're all going to hate next year. (That and all the men threatened by his girlfriend's success.)
-I picked Gronk to miss so I won $30 in free bets on Fanduel (1 $25 and 1 $5 bet). I have put both on parlays. I had previously bet my last $8 in my FD account in the last week of the regular season. I am back up to $100.
-DraftKings gave me a free $5 bet and a 50% bonus (has to be used separately), so I put those on parlays. This is all the last betting I'll really do until next football season.

Even then, after they said that. I knew logically, but still, it just felt so viscerally wrong.

Announcers: Nice reception by Kelce. Me: That's Not Kelce. My wife: See, I told you you could do this better than they do.

I would go for that. Romo had a few very good observations, but they were so obvious that (except on D coverage scheme, where he can see the full 22/field and I cannot) I said most of them like 3-5 seconds before he did.

People love to over-react. Also, he didn't push him. Push implies he extended his arms into him. He bumped into him, and was EVEN HOLDING HIM with his arm.

I'll get sports betting Mid-March, apparently. Suck it, Gronk.
