"(Who) is the banana republic now?"
The United States. While Biden asks for patience and confidence in democracy, president Trump insists that the elections are fraudulent. The vote count continues.

I'm kind of proud of myself that I didn't need it translated.
And it's still them. We're having protests and shit, but lawyers from both sides are packed into the counting rooms and the letter of the law is being followed.

Cities are magically homogenous now? Also, the 10 largest cities are ~10% of the US, max.
Los Angeles County is more populated than 914 other US counties combined

LA alone has that area covered. Let's do NYC next.

That's area, not people. Land doesn't vote. The top 10 cities are 10% of the US population.

So... close.
Biden - GA - 4k - There are approximately 26,500 ballots outstanding.
Biden - PA - 30k - 102,541 absentee ballots remain to be counted.
Biden - NV - 23k - Nevada has 93% of its expected vote in, which implies 84k more ballots, +/-
Biden - AZ - 37k - About 254,000 ballots are outstanding statewide.

The conversation was about people far away from the seat of government not feeling like they have a stake in it, not wanting to be ruled by the whims of people in the cities. If that green area is the equivalent population of LA county, then next let's do the counties of the megalopolis of the Boston/NYC/DC corridor (the most populous megalopolis located entirely in the United States, with over 50 million residents.). See how much more of the map of the USA we can cover. Then Chicago and SanFran. And that should make my point that states are still important to the human psyche, not wanting to be ruled from afar. If you want more strife with the government, make people feel even more useless within it.
But none of that is proof. I'm just glad you weren't in charge when they made things the way they are.

You would not be an idiot to throw $5-$20 on Trump just in case his recounts/lawsuits pay off.

I can't bet Vegas. I can only bet PredictIt... which is giving $0.11 on Trump Yes or $0.09 on Biden No. Too much. At $0.05, I would consider.

Who would have thought, 2 men in their 70s
Could maintain an election for so long?
If this year has taught us anything, it’s that Donald Trump is a regular American citizen
He caught COVID-19, has massive debt, is about to be evicted from his house and is going to lose his job

Those two things are funny.

Trump was singularly terrible as president, and I am very glad he's gone.

While his administration did accomplish some things OR things occurred during his presidency that were good, I agree with this statement.
He has to go down as worst president ever because while Carter's years in office were also a disaster, he wasn't such a public asshole.

I thought about what to post after the announcement, and that was one of the ideas I was considering...

Pierce is a good pull, but yeah, typically we have to stick by what we experience.
