"Anthony Fauci has been wrong about everything with me: Peter Navarro" https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/ ... 439374002/

Trump admin official slams Fauci. The title is rich coming from Navarro.

2 hairstylists have covid, had symptoms, wore masks. 139 clients were exposed to them, wore masks, no one got sick.
What is already known about this topic?

Consistent and correct use of cloth face coverings is recommended to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

What is added by this report?

Among 139 clients exposed to two symptomatic hair stylists with confirmed COVID-19 while both the stylists and the clients wore face masks, no symptomatic secondary cases were reported; among 67 clients tested for SARS-CoV-2, all test results were negative. Adherence to the community’s and company’s face-covering policy likely mitigated spread of SARS-CoV-2.

What are the implications for public health practice?

As stay-at-home orders are lifted, professional and social interactions in the community will present more opportunities for spread of SARS-CoV-2. Broader implementation of face covering policies could mitigate the spread of infection in the general population.
50% were tested, 50% refused. The testers were all negative. The refusers did not report any symptoms.

Fine, joke. But his statement about how "older customers" wear them, but not the others... he's really missing the point.

Love that you also caught the "chiropractor's note" tidbit too. Could she not get an excuse slip from Santa? It'd carry the same legitimacy.

Saw that two days ago and meant to post it, but I've been swamped. That dude needs to climb down the fence post and pick a side.

Also, DeWine held an "emergency press conference" Wednesday where he basically just asked people to remain vigilant or Ohio might have to lockdown again. Yet he mandated NOTHING. People on both sides of the aisle were scratching their heads at that one.

Right? I was about to say "My dog says I don't need a mask"

Honestly, a nationwide mask mandate wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course, then I'd be reminded that the government can't really do that, or something. But fuck that Georgia dude.

A lot of people respond to peer pressure even if they don't understand the reason, or believe the cause.

Everybody wants to be cool, no one wants to be mocked by strangers.

My wife's mom's best friend (per a conversation with her and my MIL) is in Florida, cannot get a hospital bed due to COVID hospitalizations, and is currently dying.

Tests are still taking 3 days on average to process, hospitals filling, morgues overful. go America.

Here's all you need to do:
1. Start posting this around social media: "There is a lot of pushback from the gay community about mask wearing. Apparently, the folks most vocal about it are bottoms who want to leave their mouth visible so they can advertise to other men that it's open for business. So please stop telling these proud, but still in the closet gay folks to wear a mask!"

2. Enjoy watching people melt down with anger.
