The dude in our fantasy league who is now finishing 2nd (assuming it stays as is):
Was the #2 seed last year, lost immediately.
Was the #1 seed two years ago, lost in the finals on a tie-breaker (score was 130-130)
Was the #1 seed three years ago, lost in the finals on a blow-out
Was the #3 seed four years ago, lost immediately.
Was the #1 seed five years ago, won.
Was the #2 seed six years ago, won.
Was the #3 seed 7 years ago, lost immediately.
Was the #1 seed 8 years ago, lost immediately.
Was terrible 9 + 10 years ago.

Me:
10 years ago - #6 seed / 12, lost in semis.
2013-2015: sucked
2016: #5 seed / 12, lost in semis.
2017: #6 seed, lost immediately.
2018-2020: sucked
2021: #4 seed, lost immediately.
2022: #1 seed, won it all!

I'm the NY Jets! Except in reverse.

I seem to either win it all (x3 - more than any other team in our league) or I'm one of the worst teams. I'm rarely anywhere in between.

The ring around the rosie huddle followed by trick play by the Chiefs was awesome.

The opening kickoff being returned in the Bills-Patriots game was pretty cool.

Both teams have incentive to lose.

Interestingly, the Texans' opponents, the Colts, also have incentive to lose.

If the Texans hold onto the #1 draft pick, they get their choice at QB.

If the Bears sneak into that spot, they get to accept all trade offers, which could get quite large. For a team with over $110M in salary cap space and already a bunch of draft picks...they could become a contender overnight.

Meanwhile, the Colts can improve their draft stock with a loss and they're a team in need of a QB. There are 3 good ones apparently, so moving up in a draft where QBs are expected to slide a bit is important.
Texans are currently up 10-0...

Finally get to see a mid-day Commies game, as both NFC East games will be televised here.

Greatest coach ever has the bad news Bears Steelers on the cusp of the playoffs? This rag tag band of losers?

Well, until that Miami FG.

Either way, ANOTHER WINNING SEASON. AMAZING

Houston won and gave up the #1. Ha! Chicago has $110M in cap space, the #1 pick, and a bunch of other picks due to trades. Time for their GM to prove he isn't terrible at his job.

This is what happens when your coach let's the lunatics run the asylum.

Also, that asshole gave us the worst possible outcome:
-Kept his "no losing seasons" streak going.
-Made the draft pick worse.
-No playoffs.

Winners get haters. :D

Way to blow it, Packers. But the fun side is that Geno Smith is in the playoffs, and Russel isn't.

Rodgers did not look good in that game last night.

I am depressed today knowing that football is over.

Sure, there are playoffs and a championship game tonight, but my teams are done. Tonight is irrelevant to me. For the NFL playoffs, go Buffalo, I guess?

Lovie Smith fired.

Good for him winning that last game though. He fucked his employer before they got a chance to fire him. They're now the #2 pick in the draft.

Belichick plans to return.

We'll see if Kraft feels the same way.

Browns fire their DC.

Really Cleveland? You think he was the problem? How about your $234M QB who was outplayed by Pittsburgh $2M rookie this weekend? How about your HC who wants to throw every play despite having, arguably, the best 1-2 RB combo in the league?

Cardinals fire Kingsbury
Although Kingsbury had to coach a team without DeAndre Hopkins for the first six games, Kyler Murray for the last five games, without tight end Zach Ertz for the last seven games and without four of the Cardinals' five starting offensive linemen for stretches this season, he was still relieved of his duties as the Cardinals set out to find their third head coach in the last six years. Despite being in existence for over 100 years, no Cardinals head coach has ever lasted longer than six years on the job.

Kingsbury is going to be an interesting one to watch. Does he end up in NE as Bill's new OC? Does he go back to college for a HC job or go be the OC for OSU or Bama?
