Ugh, sounds awful, just saw the hit. If someone gets hit in the right part of their chest, heart can stop immediately:

I remember hearing about someone getting hit with a... nerf football? or something years ago and that happened.

I honestly don't know. Many of these guys were in full on tears. How do you keep playing? The game has huge playoff implications as well, so you'd think it "must" be played. Maybe they rule it a tie or a forfeit?

Twitter says the hospital he was taken to is the top one in the area and only 2 miles from the stadium.

Hopefully wasn't aortic dissection. My dad was a cardiologist, and man that was a scary thing. But I think they wouldn't have bothered with the AED in that case (could be wrong).

The outpouring of support from all corners of the sports universe, including fans from both teams going to the hospital, no boos from the crowd, etc. has restored some of my faith in humanity.

What have you heard? I've only heard that all of his vitals were back to normal last night, but he's still on a breathing machine.

I've heard he wasn't breathing, heart wasn't beating. They did get his pulse back, but it was weak for a while, before being back to normal. He's heavily sedated, and on a breathing machine.
If he doesn't have long lasting permanent damage from this, I'll be stunned. But would show how much of an impact immediate medical attention can have.

Alright, Leisher - You're in charge of the NFL: What do you do about last night's game?

The NFL said that Monday’s suspended game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals “will not be resumed this week” after the hospitalization of Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

I wish I got paid enough to figure it out.
The "keep things as is" answer is that all playoff teams are getting a bye week as you just shove everything back one week to accommodate a week where the only game is Bills vs Bengals. So the #1 seeds would get two weeks. However, the logistics on that have to be impossible. All those stadiums, other events booked, worker schedules, flight and hotel bookings, etc.
A better answer would be to hold the final games this weekend, but move the Bengals and Bills games to Saturday. Then have the Bengals/Ravens and Bills/Patriots play on Wednesday or Thursday night, but only if necessary to determine something. If everything has already been set, then no game.
The best answer is probably call the game a tie or no decision. The NFL can dig into its very deep pockets and provide the Bengals with compensation for the lost home game. Meanwhile, division and playoff standings will just have to swing on the situation. Some will complain, but I think it'll be only a vocal minority of idiots/trolls who don't understand how impossible a task it is to reschedule this late.
Jim Harbaugh and the Panthers owner have spoken about the HC job.
