At this point, it's just dumb. Take a look at the stats on wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_ ... es_by_date

Daily deaths (in the USA) have been dropping since late April. Practically EVERYBODY who has died is over the age of 55. This is just ridiculous.

Old people should stay at home. Everybody else should be allowed to get back to normal life.

That case is.

The CNN C-19 update page is full of stories about hospitals running out of beds in states throughout the country. So I would say this wouldn't be good yet.

It might not be killing younger people at the same rate, but it IS killing them and hospitalizing them. Not to mention causing permanent damage to their lungs, heart, etc.

So far our school system has 2 options for Fall:

1) Divide the classes into thirds, and the kids alternate: in-school 1 week, review lesson the next week at home, then "upside down classes" the 3rd week, rinse/repeat (upside down I think is self-guided study with teachers to answer questions). The logistics of all this? Who knows.

2) Completely virtual academy.

Right now I'm leaning door #2

Is it though? I mean...CNN, come on. You know better than that. Did you know CNN also said that HCQ doesn't work? Except...oh now they say it does...whups. And as for "permanent" damage...WHO DO YOU KNOW that's got "permanent" damage to lungs or heart? How does anybody know it's "permanent?" What is the mechanism by which this damage is caused? Like...it...like causes damage, bro?

Give me a break. It's all bullshit.

And you’re smarter than that. The plural of “anecdote” is not data. It is simply not a problem for people under the age of 55. That doesn’t mean it kills NOBODY...but Jfc if that’s the standard why haven’t we outlawed cars?

Early studies showed no benefits, 1 study has finally shown benefit, under a very specific set of circumstances it can reduce the %age of people who die. But it's not, and never has been what Trump claimed.

there's a lot of territory in between "not a problem" and "everyone should stay home"

We've outlawed many guns and they've killed far, far, far, far fewer people than cars, drugs, cigarettes, Big Macs, etc.

I'm not pointing that out for any reason. Just wanted to showcase our country's ridiculous logic.
thibodeaux wrote: Is it though? I mean...CNN, come on. You know better than that.
I created the MSM thread to point out how all the MSM outlets are shit. I've said several times why I visit CNN over FOX.

That all being said, despite their obvious spin there are nuggets of truth. Just look for the actual press releases rather than their bullshit re-written reports.
