"It's going to disappear. One day it's like a miracle, it will disappear," Trump said at the White House Thursday as the virus marched across Asia and Europe after US officials said the US should brace for severe disruption to everyday life.
The President also warned that things could "get worse before it gets better," but he added it could "maybe go away. We'll see what happens. Nobody really knows."
This guy inspires confidence.

2 counties of the 7 that make up the SF Bay have cases. Not ours, yet.

We take public transportation to our offices. Cat more than me.

What I'm saying is I'll probably have a COVID trip report for you soon.

Have you seen the insane number of people throughout the world wearing surgical masks lately?

Best wishes for you and Cat Troy.

I mean, technically... :D

I get what he was going for, and actually agree with the final point made, but holy fuck the lack of proofreaders in this administration is frightening.

Tuesday, no masks at airport. Today 8 people.

Sold out everywhere though, so people are stockpiling.

Stonks fall down go boom again.

Locally, I started seeing them heavily on people in Chinatown SF when I was doing a gig in late January. I've gotten use to seeing masks in the bay area though, especially in certain neighborhoods and on foreign Asian tourists, People wear them all the time during fire season as well.

Cat points out that masks are much more normal in Asian culture, she has done large global conference calls and people in board rooms in Asia would have them on.

- According to study, 38 per cent of beer drinkers won't buy Mexican pale lager
- Survey by 5WPR also found that 4 per cent of Corona drinkers would drop brand
38% quote is stupid. 38% of all beer drinkers wouldn't have bought corona in the first place, because it isn't very good.

4% of actual corona drinkers, if they stop drinking because of this, are idiots.

I have heard people say the coronavirus is cured by eating limes. I thought that was funny.

Mask won't help you against coronavirus.

Amazon, Google, and Uber restricting employee travel.
Amazon, which has about 800,000 employees, has started restricting all nonessential employee travel in the U.S. and has restricted all travel to China “until further notice.” Uber on Friday also restricted travel for employees to mainland China, Iran, and some regions of Italy and South Korea.

A handful of companies restricting travel isn't going to do anything except delay those employees being exposed. Too many others are travelling freely.

There will still be too many people travelling freely. Put the army blocking the roads, every road, maybe you'll stop the spread, for a minute. But the cat's out of the bag and not going back in.
