AI lies and moves files to try and save itself from being shut down.
Serious question: Why is nobody in Silicon Valley concerned about the cliff we are obviously heading towards?

Cuz if they don't get us there first, someone else will?

So.... it's definitely the AI protecting itself, hiring hitmen on the dark web, right?

Did you see the AI that lied and moved files to prevent being shut down?

(Caveat from another tweet: apparently, this is not midjourney but flux. )

If you're only following friends, who cares? If they're faking pics you'll know and unfollow them.
Unless insta is used in other ways, idk.

Friend of mine just follow large-breasted blondes. So this is good for him. I guess.

So............. I'm not sure what the idea is I want to explore, yet.
We all know that kids are trying to pass off ChatGPT work in school, both high and college. That's bad. No learning is happening there, which is usually the purpose of "Here's an idea, do some research, think about, analyze, and regurgitate" assignments. Instead of learning you're just plugging in the boundaries of a query and even stating, "written in the whimsical style of an Ohio teenager." And it does. And it's getting better, probably.
But here's one better: My partner is in a Master's Degree program for childhood trauma neurodivergence stuff. It's all but impossible for her to get a prof in person for office hours, and they rarely answer emails, and never answer their phones. And when she finally is able to communicate with them, their answer is almost always, "Run that question through ChatGPT and see what it tells you."
I, personally, think that's bullshit. I feel like they aren't doing their jobs, and more concerning, perhaps don't even know the subject they are teaching. There's not much evidence to the contrary when asked a question and they say, "Ask the computer."
And here's one even better: My partner is part of a school system and is privy to administrative meetings. They are wanting to update their policy for "when do we kick out disruptive children." There was nothing in their policy about accounting for trauma and neurodivergence, and my partner just happens to have an opinion about that. But.......... the administration said, "We're just going to have ChatGPT revise our current handbook."
ChatGPT is being used in the real world to replace all expertise and critical analysis, apparently. I've been seeing commercials for AI, and how you can use it to run your business for you.
I feel like I was pretty good at predicting the millennials 30 years ago, when we were raising children, disastrously, in the style of "everyone gets trophies, and everyone's feelings matter." A decade later we had trigger warnings and safe spaces at college. I totally called it.
So what are things going to look like in a decade, when the illiterate children we failed during the covid lockdowns are in the real world, and now all critical thinking during the developmental years is being done by ChatGPT? We already had a glut of retards in the world, what is it going to look like when we have another 10% of literally, functionally retarded people in more positions of authority, are the supposed experts, and the country is even more crowded because we keep allowing idiots to breed?
Are we heading for a major brain crash in 10-20 years?

Who will be the first to successfully sue an AI decision maker when a business allows it to write their processes/procedures/handbook/whatever, and someone gets hurt or killed because an actual (expensive) human expert didn't have a hand in it?

AI is NOT there yet. In any way.

We've already had smaller lawsuits about AI agents offering deals that don't exist and such.

Hell, I'll say it's 1,000,000% bullshit and people who do this shit should be terminated.
BTW, schools are having a huge problem right now with "AI scanners". They run papers through them to see if AI wrote them or not. Way, way, way too many false positives. Kids are actually doing the work and then getting told their paper is being rejected and they need to redo it.
Also, AI being used for homework isn't the biggest issue in education. Teachers no longer teaching and just being glorified babysitters as the internet teaches your kids is a much larger issue.
Technology is awesome, but can be used incorrectly.

AI will allow people of lesser skill and intelligence to get farther than they should. It's going to be a big problem that compounds itself.
I'll circle back around to this in 2098 or so.
