Hines Ward & Wes Welker fucking sandbagged it for me this week. So did Ray Rice and Phil Rivers to an extent. Didn't even have a bad week. Just not a kick-ass one. Which my opponent did. 150 fucking points.

Interesting year.
Big Ben learned not everyone thinks he should be given everything he wants.
Favre learned time exists.
Albert Haynesworth might have set free agency back 10 years.
The NFL is on the precipice of a major PR blunder.
We learned the league hates defense.
Minnesota had about as bad a season as possible (sorry guys).
Detroit looks like a threat next year. No seriously.
A 7-9 team just won their division and will host the defending champs in a playoff game. Again, seriously.
12 teams made the playoffs, but we're being told only one matters. Fuck NE and Tom Brady.
I see NO routing Seattle, GB upsetting Phily (although I wouldn't be shocked to see Phily in the SB), the Ravens over the Chiefs, and the Colts over the Jets.

Favre learned time exists.
He was mentally done when he tossed that pick in the NO playoff game last year. I think he was physically done when he got sacked during the second quarter on the ground of the TCF Bank Stadium a couple weeks ago. It's nice to think that Brett Favre may have played his last game and taken his last hit, perhaps on the very spot where I used to park my car. Fucker should've hung it up permanently years ago.
Detroit looks like a threat next year. No seriously.
If they can stop self-destructing in 75% of the games they play, maybe. They're also in one of the two shittiest divisions in the NFL.

Which one? There's more than a couple to choose from.
The Jets and Colts I'm not sure about. There's been plenty of games Indy wanted to win this year and they couldn't do it. In years prior, they could seemingly pull a win out of their ass at will. The Jets also look like a legit team when Sanchez is on. His consistency as a QB is nowhere near Peyton's, though. The running game from either team isn't exactly blowing me away, either.
GB could take out Philly if Aaron Rodgers is on. Then again, maybe a part of me just wants to watch Vick suffer.

I completely disagree. The Bears are the #2 seed in the NFC and the Packers are the most dangerous #6 since the Steelers in 2004. Meanwhile the Vikings are Bret Favre from last shy of being in the playoffs. The NFC North is not a weak division.
The NFC West, without a doubt, is the single weakest division in football. It's impossible to argue.
#2 is a good question. For this year alone, Catt might have a point about the AFC South. However, I'd argue that the Colts were injury plagued, and the Texans are a defensive effort away from being a playoff contender. Hell, the Jaguars were in the playoffs until the final week, and the Titans are one good quarterback away from being a contender.
I think the AFC West is the second weakest division currently. SD is a horribly coached and managed team. The Raiders were a pretender, but rising. The Chiefs are good, but a fraud this year. And the Broncos imploded.
Ask me this the last several years and you would have heard the AFC East. I think that's something overlooked in the Patriots' recent history. They've played in a cupcake division for years. The Jets, Bills, and Dolphins have more history behind their names than recent wins.
Which one? There's more than a couple to choose from.

They need more than a QB. If you want to talk shittily managed teams, Tennessee goes near the top of my list.

Stunning upset in Seattle and with the Colts out, we'll have two new teams in the Super Bowl this year.
Steelers get the winner of tomorrow's Chiefs-Ravens game.
Does it get more fitting in the AFC this year than Jets-Patriots and Steelers-Ravens?

Outside of Kansas City-Baltimore, some very good games this weekend.
That Marshawn Lynch run was the stuff of legend. Not sure if that was his effort or more the Saints' lack of effort. I saw 9 really lazy attempts at a tackle and 1 attempt to strip the ball instead of tackle. Back to back Super Bowl winners seem even more impressive to me lately. I see SB winners play flat and lazy year after year. Tough to fire your team up to win another SB right after winning one.
The Jets beat Manning by not blitzing. I think they were also helped by the Art Shell impression Caldwell is doing on the sideline. Give this idiot ANY other quarterback in the league and Indy goes 5-11 if they're lucky.
GB-Philly I only saw parts of thanks to my kids. Still, I expected the outcome. Vick has had an amazing year, but people seem to forget that he wasn't that good in Atlanta. Yeah, I know all his numbers now are better, but that's because he's listening to his coaches now. (His words.) The problem isn't his talent though, it's his head. He still can't read defenses, he still stares down receivers, and he still makes bad choices. Watching Philly in the offseason should be interesting. Will they keep Kolb or trade him away? You've got to think Arizona or San Francisco would love to get him. Also, Philly might be the town that keeps putting too much into good, but not great QBs.
Baltimore-KC was crap. And despite Cassell's 70 yards passing this game was a lot closer until late in the third when KC starting turning the ball over every drive inside their own 20. That helped hide the fact that Baltimore's offense didn't look that good.
This upcoming weekend:
GB at Atlanta - I'll take GB. They just seem to be on a roll.
Seattle at Chicago - Chicago should win, but how great would it be if Seattle pulled off the upset? They did win there earlier this year...
Jets at Patriots - Patriots win. Might be another rout depending on Sanchez.
Ravens at Steelers - Hopefully the Steelers without a lot of people getting injured.

We were one touchdown away from every home team losing this past weekend, and only 4 divisions being left in the playoffs.
Atlanta
Chicago
Patriots
Steelers
I was 2/4 last weekend, but the teams I cheered for were 4/4. i should hire myself out as a fan. That has worked so well for the Redskins and Panther lately.

It's not me, it's someone else.

Please root for the Steelers. Thank you.
Also, root for the Jets so the Steelers can play them in Pittsburgh. Thanks again!

Watching the media's coverage of the NFL's upcoming games this weekend, and I have to say that I've been quite irritated by the bias in reporting.
Every outlet can only talk about one game, Jets at Patriots (New York versus Boston).
The last time these two teams met, which was earlier this year, the Patriots won 45-3. How exciting.
Meanwhile, the NFL's best current rivalry Pittsburgh versus Baltimore is going to take place and what happened the last time these two met in the playoffs? The winner went on to win the Super Bowl. I guess that's not very important though.
Interestingly, these two teams met on the same week the Patriots beat the Jets by 42 points. In that game, the Steelers won by 3 in a nail biter. Multiple players were hurt, including Big Ben getting his nose broken.
Up in the Patriots-Jets game I think Brady broke a nail.
And did you know that there's a whole other conference in the NFL? Apparently, Atlanta has an NFL franchise and is hosting the Green Bay Packers this weekend. I don't blame you if you didn't know this since nobody is talking about it.
In Chicago, the streaky Bears are hosting the NFL's only team to ever make the playoffs with a losing record. They also happen to be the only team to win a playoff game with a losing record. More interestingly, these Seattle Seahawks beat the defending Super Bowl champions last week and now play a Chicago team they beat earlier in the year. NFL history is happening and the media doesn't care because Brady is playing against Rex Ryan's crew of overpaid nobodies.
Yet another reason to hate the MSM. Although, I have gained respect for the few columnists who have actually pointed this slant in coverage out like David Flemming of ESPN's Page 2.
ESPN's HQ should be based out of someplace without any local sports so they give fair reporting to all games. How about Eastern Montana?
In related news, did anyone see Suggs' recent interview where somehow Brady's name was brought up in comparison to Big Ben. Suggs, who HATES the Steelers, said Big Ben was by far the better QB. When reminded of Brady's accomplishments, Suggs went on to say "let's see how he won those Super Bowls...the tuck rule incident, the video taping of other teams...and he's the only QB in the league who can tell the officials when to throw a flag."
Ouch!!! You know if Suggs is saying it, other players feel the same way.
I was so happy to hear him say that stuff because I've been going nuts since the videotaping scandal due to all the credit the Patriots get. They got caught cheating during their super bowl runs yet NOBODY talks about it. It's stunning. They haven't won shit since they got busted, but NOBODY brings that up. Why? Why is Belicheck considered a mastermind when he was caught cheating? Why isn't Brady's legacy forever tarnished FOR CHEATING, yet Brett Favre's legacy is forever damaged because he likes women?!?!? WTF? It's insanity.
(Sorry for the ranting. It's Friday and aside from dealing AT&T again, I've had a light work week.)
