I think that was the worst MNF game i've seen.

That game was exciting as watching preseason WNBA matches.

Shit, I'll take Tebow over Josh right about now. At least everyone would be unfamiliar with the offense, since you'd have to retool it for god-boy.

Hell, i'll at least give the Vikings credit. They realized their qb situation sucked and went out and got a young guy with athleticism and a good arm. Why not give him a shot, you've got nothing to lose.

Meanwhile in Cleveland, you've got a qb that processes the game slower than an Apple IIe and a backup that has said he's fine being a backup and doesn't want to ruffle any feather! WTF! what a pussy!

Yeah, gimme Tebow mania running wild! At least that mother fucker has some heart and will lay it all out on the field, something that the rest of the team will get behind. Not one man in the Browns locker room has an ounce of faith in Weeden or Cambell, not because they suck, but because they are gutless pussies with no leadership qualities.

Unfortunately, the Vikings don't play the Jags this year, so the anti-Super Bowl won't occur.

10! points down in the 3rd was the defecit at which the Vikings coaching staff stopped running the ball and just called the same 5-6 second passing play over and over. WHHHYYYY???!! you had Adrian Freaking Peterson, GOAT and a danger to take it to the house on every play.

I want the brain cells back , too.

Buddy of mine is winless in PPR. He needed Jerome Simpson to get 10 points last night. Nope. Another needed Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks to combine for 15 or less. They got 17. Just ouch.

I disagree.

1. Again, they're paying him more than their other two QBs. That's not giving him a shot, that's making him your future.
2. The only way this becomes a good move is if they steal away Oakland's offensive coordinator who coached Freeman when he was good. (When he left Freeman became shit.)

paying him 3 million for the rest of the year is hardly making him your future. Thats a 10 game contract, and who cares if he makes more than the two other bums on the bench.

Just because 10 losses roll off a Cleveland fan like water off a duck's back is no reason to think it's the same for other teams and cities.

Do you honestly believe that the Vikings were in a much better position to win this year with either Cassel or Ponder? i don't.

I'm not touting that Freeman is their savior or will be any good for that matter. But i don't see anything wrong with taking a risk on a qb for the rest of the year that is young, athletic and has had some success. To me if i measure the risk vs reward i like it, the Vikings season was done when they started so bad. So if Freeman blows then so be it, move on get another QB in the draft.

Coach Leslie Frazier said he considered taking out Freeman, but that the score was close enough for him to stick with his new QB.

He wanted to make sure his team lost?

Ponder > Freeman for MN this year.

Vikings owner weighs in.
"I'm sticking with my team," Wilf said after the game, per The Star Tribune. "That's our team. We're going to stick with it."

If the Vikings agreed with you, then why didn't they do something during the draft or in free agency already?

Why sign a guy who gets cut during the season, and immediately have him start even though he was clearly not ready?

What message are you sending your team? Those other two guys are so bad, we couldn't wait one more week during this losing season. We're fucked if they ever enter a game again, so just quit playing if that happens. Oh btw, we've quit on the season, so you should too.

Outside of a castoff, what free agent will want to go to Minnesota after seeing this whole fiasco go down?

Why have a guy who has one week of practice under his belt, after weeks of not playing, who got kicked off his former team, throw the ball 50 times in his first game? When it was obvious he couldn't complete a pass even if all the Giants fell down dead, why have him keep throwing? Why keep him in risking injury as he was getting pounded?

If I was the Vikings owner, I'd be replacing people today. Not players, but coaches and executives. There's no way someone could watch that game last night and think "we're on the right track".

I was waiting for that. I assume the Giants' pass rushers just stopped giving a shit after they figured he throws just as bad with or without the pressure.

Look, i'm not saying Freeman is the answer nor the front office and coaching staff are competent at all!! I didn't even know who Leslie Frasier was before he got hired. And i'm sure there will be sweeping changes in front office and coaching in the offseason.

But taking a flyer on a QB in a QB league when you have no QB is worth it! don't construe my words in any other way.

Hell, yes. Cassel would have had a chance to win. Freeman's about a month away from getting to Cassel-level based on what I saw last night. That shit wasn't exactly a confidence booster.

I'm not. I actually disagree with exactly what you're saying.

Look, I get it, your team is terrible so why not take a flier on this kid.

The problem is that the negatives outweighed the positives. You can't just consider it a no harm test run in week 7. You've got to take into account everything else it affects.

1. You destroyed both of your other QBs, and your team's confidence in them. Now, if Freeman fails, you need three new QBs next year.
2. Matt Cassell went 11-5 in New England. Josh Freeman never came close to that record. They never gave him a real chance, yet now they're overpaying for someone they just want to kick the tires on?
3. If you want to grab him now to avoid a bidding war, you needed to sign him to a long term deal, not a one year contract.
4. You announced to the world that your season was officially over. Now your fans can stop buying your merchandise, not attend your games, etc.
5. Was Freeman going to become their superstar? The overwhelming odds suggested no.
6. Last night was the worst test drive I've ever seen. It was like going to a car dealership to see how smoothly a luxury car drives, then taking it up to 90 on an unpaved country road. They're fucking him out of the gate.

The Vikings should have rode the season out, and dumped their QBs after the season. Draft 1 or 2, and sign someone like Freeman. Make it an open competition for the job. This strategy kind of worked well in Washington.

As it is, their grabbing of Freeman looks like a desperate act.

By the way, I agree with Tebow to Cleveland. That makes sense. Campbell IS a pussy, and Wheedon sucks. Your true starter is out for the year. Bring in Tim and sell some jerseys!

So lets take a look at the alternate situation.. Oh look, it just so happens to be Cleveland!

You stick to your shitty QB.. and you continue to lose. What does that tell the rest of your team?! We're not going to go out and help you guys, we'll wait for next year. So go ahead and throw in the towel for this season.

To me doing nothing is throwing in the towel way more than trying to see if something will work. Whats the worst that can happen? you lose?

I am the sultan of suck! nobody has seen more inept QB play than I! I'm just sick and tired of seeing my team be ok with total shit play at QB!

oh yeah, Freeman was 10-6 in 2010, thats pretty close to 11-5. Still, not saying Freeman is some great qb, but he did have that for one season, just like Cassel who was with the Patriots, not the Buccs.
