Tucker Carlson, one of the most popular Fox News prime-time hosts, is leaving the network, a network spokesperson said Monday.

Mr. Carlson’s last show was on Friday. The network will rely on a rotation of hosts until it names a permanent anchor for the 8 p.m. program.

Fox News parent Fox Corp. FOX -4.80%decrease; red down pointing triangle shares common ownership with the parent of The Wall Street Journal’s publisher.

Remember CNN Headline news back in the day? That was nice. 30 minutes of news, sometimes changing as things happened.

Stockholders want profit. Stockholders require growth. It isn't like you can make news happen, so sometimes you have to embellish. And if you discover that keeping your viewers scared, pissed, and divided is the way to make more profits, then I guess the stockholders require that.

This. I have no idea what the answer is, but as long as we have 24 hour news stations who need original programming and have to show a profit, the MSM will never do its job without divisive content. And no, the government taking over isn't the answer either.

Yeah, it sucks. Depending on the company I keep I have to silence my views that are farther left or right for fear of getting into a heated argument (notice I didn't say "debate").

It amazes me how some people are so intellectually and morally superior that their views are unable to withstand facts thrown at them.

It's very weird to sit and watch both sides trying to destroy the country in different ways. Even weirder to listen to people try and justify it while completely ignoring history and legitimate counterarguments.

That's why I like you people. I can say whatever and either get it validated or told why it's wrong.
