It's apparently real.
Meanwhile, I feel bad if I lose a $5 bet.

Moneyball is coming to Cleveland!!
Hell, if ya can't be good at football why not try baseball.
I watched moneyball tonight, so was searching to see if we have a thread on it (we do not). But I found these posts.Leisher wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2016 2:54 pm That's a really interesting hire.
I think it could work out well, but my two concerns about it are:
1. He's a baseball guy. Yes, they're both professional sports team, but the sports are VERY different. He also won't have many contacts in the NFL versus how many I'm sure he had in MLB.
2. People have to listen to him. Football people have to listen to a baseball guy tell them how to do their jobs. Will folks swallow their ego to do that?
He's still at Cleveland, right? Has his time worked out? I'm not sure either way.
It's not me, it's someone else.

Read this, moved onto Twitter and this was the 5th tweet in my timeline: Also, this is a weird coincidence:

Yeah he's still there, he's now the director of football operations so he only answers to Jimmy. Its kind of a weird thing because he came on when they sucked while Hue Jackson was coach, i wanna say the same year that John Dorsey was hired as GM. Dorsey had all the power at that time and shit canned Hue, hired Freddy Kitchens, traded for OBJ and drafter Baker with the #1 pick. None of that was really DePodesta's doing, in fact everyone was curious what the hell he was even doing there because Dorsey and DePo are like fire and ice, complete opposites.
After Dorsey and Kitchens were let go DePodesta was pretty much given the reigns to the franchise. Has it worked out? really i can't say yet. There's still lots of Dorsey's guys on the team. But they're by far much better than they were back when they hired him. At least there is an organizational cohesion, DePo, Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski all seem to have the same analytical approach to everything and it doesn't seem that any of them are going anywhere anytime soon. I'm of the opinion that the best thing that can happen for the Browns is to have some sort of stability in the front office and coaching for once. So i might even say that DePodesta has been one of if not the stabilizing factor in the Browns since he's arrived.

His retirement announcement didn't mention the Patriots, Kraft, Belicheck, or his Pats teammates. Bitter bitch, separate announcement, or waiting until HOF speech?

To be fair to the known cheater, McAffee just broke the news that Brady is signing with the Pats on a one day deal so he can retire with them. Perhaps he'll put out another statement at that time?
