Leisher wrote: It is absolutely censorship, it's just not the government engaging in it. Also, the article I linked discusses how the Post article isn't awesome, which imho gives it (the one I linked, not the Post one) credibility. They openly talk about how it's not the smoking gun they think it is and the dubious information. The important part to focus on was FB and twitter's willingness to block the story and who at the companies are the ones making those decisions.
Disinformation needs brakes. Else we end up with the social networks taking down civilization.

That is not the argument nor do I disagree with this sentiment.

Who decides what is misinformation and what isn't? All MSM outlets have been caught reporting lies as fact. Where's the Information police to point it out and censor it?
TheCatt wrote: Prove it.
I already try to whenever it strikes my fancy.

I mean, to a person, just about every left winger on my FB has pointed out multiple times that Obama had no scandals, Trump is basically Hitler, Trump + Russia, yada yada yada.

Are you seriously trying to imply left wingers don't engage in spreading disinformation because if so your bigotry is showing.

No, but quantity and quality matter. It's not just boolean.

It's my impression that the left lies WAY more, and I'm sure there'll be a personal insult hurled at me for having that impression.

I'll try to hide behind my copy of the piss tape, for protection.

Trump alone makes that hard to believe.

The other day I told an extreme liberal:

"Everyone has the criteria they vote on. Their metric for whether or not they like a person. For some, the criteria is is simple as a letter behind their name, but for me, it's what I perceive to be their honesty. Integrity is my thing. I fucking hate liars. So when I see a politician clearly pandering to a certain demographic, like John Kerry going to Ohio and saying Where can I get me a fishing license around here, because he thinks that's how Ohioans speak, that pisses me off. And when I see a republican thanking jesus for his success, and saying such-and-such is God's will.... and firmly believes this, I am stuck. On the one hand, we have a liar who will say anything to get elected. On the other, a wackjob religious zealot who is, at least, being completely honest about what they feel. Which way am I supposed to go, there?"

And she agreed it was a conundrum.

I see lies going out left and right, from both sides. The left is winning the PR battle, claiming the right lies more... even though a typical daily main page of cnn.com and msnbc.com suggests otherwise. If there was a piss tape, it would have leaked. If J-Law's semen covered face wasn't safe from being leaked, then the democratic party should have had an easy time of leaking the piss tape. The Tea Party wasn't a front for the KKK, and now we're back to "I wish we had a viable third option!". A 30-year old rape allegation against Kavanaugh, with no evidence.... well, people are still certain it was true.

At best, both sides are equally dishonest. And it isn't just the politicians, it filters down to regular folk who just believe whatever feels right without evidence, and challenge someone else to provide evidence when they disagree. Everyone lies, all the time. If you don't believe that, you're fooling yourself.

President Donald Trump, the Republican National Committee and affiliated joint fundraising committees raised $247.8 million in September, Trump’s campaign announced, leaving him at a significant cash deficit to former Vice President Joe Biden entering the final stretch of the 2020 election.

Well, BOO! to you too asshole!

Quantity and quality do matter, but that's where I think this conversation gets really interesting because it swings us back around to the MSM. Most of the MSM leans hard left, and that's indisputable. We also know that "facts" are sometimes irrelevant in getting a story out in today's MSM climate. Additionally, we know that opinion has found its way into the news more so than ever. And finally, we know that studies have been done showing what parts of an article people consume, and it can be shown that there is a trend to put certain details towards the later parts of an article that may not justify whatever headline. TheCatt wrote: Trump alone makes that hard to believe.
I wanted to get this one out of the way. Agree 10000000% Trump is the absolute worst PR for Trump. He alone spreads so much disinformation, and I don't know if it's intentional, accidental, a result of mental illness, or some combination of those factors.

However, on the right of the political spectrum you only have Trump and a limited number of MSM outlets. The left is bursting at the seams with "credible" MSM outlets. In fact, there has been a very focused push over the years to showcase left leaning outlets as credible and factual, while right leaning outlets are propaganda machines telling lies. Anyone with an IQ above 100 knows this sort of extreme thinking is horseshit as both sides have been caught lying and both sides are biased, but the fact remains that there is a propaganda war going on between the MSM outlets.

Another really, really important fact in all of this is that half of all Americans have an IQ under 100.

So when you have so many MSM outlets, most of Hollywood (who blacklists anyone not towing the line), and the tech giants (who all originated in some form from super liberal Silicon Valley) all pushing an agenda of "everything Dems do is perfect and everything Rs do is the greatest evil known to mankind" then it's going to be difficult for more middle of the road people to not be somewhat influenced by that. The Rs certainly don't help matters when they make dumb decisions and say dumb things, but the Ds do just as much, but it always gets underreported and is never focused upon. The last Senator to go to prison for taking bribes was a black male Dem during Obama's years and nobody really gave a shit. The fact that people think the Obama administration had no scandals proves how underreported they were. Look at the graph you posted about debate interruptions. None of us had any idea that Barrack was doing so much interrupting probably because the MSM didn't focus on it like they do Trump. When's the last time the MSM kept track of any other president's (or ANY politician's) lie count?

Doesn't matter how strong of will a person is or how smart they are, a constant barrage of lies or even skirting the real truth of any issue WILL affect your overall belief about the issue.

I think there's a good chance he'll accept this and then yell so Biden's mic picks it up or he'll just walk over to Biden breaking the 6 foot rule.
