To me, all religions are extreme, including athiests. You want video evidence to back that up, which I don't have, but I know the odds that some evidence will pop up of other religions acting just as nuts is huge

I have a right wing lunatic uncle (a couple actually) who is ranting today because he lives down south and went to the DMV, but they're closed. Why? "Confederate Memorial Day".

He's pissed that the flags have to go, but government workers, many of whom are black (important because the Confederate Flag "had to go" as it was a symbol of racism), still get their federal holiday.

His argument, in this case, is not without logic.

Confederate Memorial Day? Are you shitting me? Normal Memorial Day isn't good enough? They had to have one on the anniversary of their surrender?

What state is he in?

I haven't heard of that holiday. It's not a holiday in Texas, at least. But many are determined by the states anyway. I doubt any state other than Texas has "Remember the Alamo" Day as a state holiday, for example.

As for Catt's image from Jeff Gordon, that's pretty typical. I think during Bush's (W) run they started the Hitler comparisons and I don't see that ending anytime soon.
