I chose the Western continent, because I couldn't bring myself to be a furry. Faction wise it's: Asians & Furries vs. Humans & Elves.
I'm sure i'll manage to think of something both witty and non racist to quip about that, but it is eluding me so far.

I went Asian. No clue why. Just figured most folks would be human.
Played about 30 minutes. Got a very strong SW:G vibe from the experience. I'll be on again tonight.

Suddenly I'm interested. I rather liked SW:G back in the day, before that major update that ruined the game.
Is there a dancing profession? Or engineering as a class? That sort of thing?

Nothing on there is recent enough to be worth trying though, the last latest post seems to be all used up.
Not having any risk for pvp is starting to get to me though. I'm level 12. How many levels before i get to kill anybody? worrying

So far, I'm enjoying it, but it's not blowing me away.
Seems like the game is pretty deep, but instruction is very light. If you know how to do anything important or what we should be focused on, type it up here.
I've just been following the story line and I'm currently level 10. Taking off for a bit, but I'll be back on tonight.

The Blue Salt Brotherhood will give you a free small farm plot to place. It was the point that the game really opened up for me. Maybe around level 10? This quest line led me to make my first trade pack, do my first overland trade, and seems to keep going with more stuff.
While exploring I found a forest zone which was a great place to find wild trees - my trade quests brought me there. I collected a bunch of logs and sold the processed boards on the auction house for cash. You can go through the portals to Mirage island and spend the currencies on plans for boats, gliders, houses, other stuff.
I built the glider and bought a few plans to upgrade it. Gave it some abilities and better handling. Ran into level cap for the next level of glider upgrade and had to stop, wasn't going to get to level 20.
Instead spent all my "real money" currency on a better glider. That kind of worried me, the "Pay to Win" shop has mounts, gliders, and tons and tons of cosmetic stuff. also some stuff like tax certificates to pay house upkeep and some item to safety trade houses. Still not sure how I feel about a cash shop, really. They said it would reset on release, so spend yours.
I abandoned all my quests except the trade line and went exploring. felt like everything was small-time farming town shit. Figured civilization HAS to exist out there somewhere.
And it does: (Cash Shop glider pictured)
That'll be about it for me this weekend. Still not sure I'm ok with the PVP side, but I'm still pretty low-level and haven't been pushing for it. We'll see.

Bonus pic of me waiting at the bus stop with my trade pack. It makes you ridiculously slow, mount or not. I had to figure out the mass transit system. The game has a recall system but it doesn't work with trade packs.
In the pic I'm using a spyglass, which is the circle. The carriage is the wheel barrow looking thing.

They throw WAY too much shit at you in this tutorial stage. I've been playing since Thursday, maybe 5-6 hours total(?), and I still feel like I'm in it.
For as much as they do throw at you, I have no idea what the fuck is going on.
Why are some players red? I mean, I assume they're PKers, but I can't attack them.
Is there a way to see an overall map? M
Which areas are for PK and which are safe zones?
What skill sets should I be focusing on?
If I stay logged on while I run over to a cookout, do I continue to collect labor points? YES
I test drove a car today in game. Not sure how I feel about that either.
