...And you would be the only man in America that would think that.. Thats just a rediculous statement.
Besides, Ray Farmer is getting kudos nationally for his great work in the draft. Cleveland fleeced Buffalo for a first round pick. and to potentially get your franchise QB late in the first for basically Trent Richardson. Its a risk worth taking.
And i know you like to talk like you already know how bad Johnny is gonna be, because somehow you know. Thanks for the intelligent insight.
I'd say Cleveland won the first round of the draft.
Honestly, I agree with that.
They got the #1 CB, the Bills' #1 pick from next year, and got Manziel late enough that it won't matter if he's a bust.
like the Jags taking Bortles at 3. They coulda gotten him way later i believe.
I like the Jags grabbing Bortles, but yeah, they could have traded down. I think they were worried Cleveland would take him or something? Got to give them credit for addressing something they desperately needed. I think it helped Bortles that he was a hometown guy, will sell more tickets, and this should effectively shut the people up who want Tebow.
You do know that your Vikings were the other team on the line that was competing for Johnny.
Looks like Johnny was thier first choice, but will have to settle for Teddy Bridgewater.
I'm happy for my Cleveland fan friends and family, but no matter where Manziel went I was going to root against him.
He's undersized, likes to run first, has trouble seeing open receivers from the pocket, and he's a chucker.
That being said, he does have talent. He's also such an arrogant dick, that he might have developed a huge chip on his shoulder last night, ala Aaron Rodgers. Plus, Drew Brees does ok as an undersized passer.
I honestly don't know what to expect from him. I do know that I'll be rooting for Ryan Shazier to break his legs. And yes, I love that pick. How could I not?

That article was from over a month ago when every team was smokescreening.
This was from the ESPN websight:
Fox's Jay Glazer reported on Twitter that the Minnesota Vikings were trying to trade up for Manziel and thought they had a deal with the Eagles
And just as recently as wednesday, and Leisher you can attest to this. I was skeptical about Johhny, i have the same questions about him too. But i won't make some bold statement that he's gonna blow just because he's an arrogant little shit. He's got a huge mountain to climb in this city, and i just hope he's got enough in him to overcome. All the past QB's never had the balls to grab the bull by the horns, and i think thats what Cleveland loves about him so much. He don't give a shit about our past and he's gonna go balls out.
As far as the Steelers... FUCK! they always take our Buckeyes.. Good pick by them once again.

Cleveland failed a trade last night too. I think it was at #11. I wonder who they were trying to grab?
Also, the best Cleveland moment for me last night was that Cleveland reporter telling the story of their owner, Jimmy Haslam, and what made up his mind about Manziel. See, he was leaving a restaurant when a homeless guy came up to him and told him "Draft Manziel". He said right then and there he knew Cleveland needed to get Manziel.
You can't make this shit up.
The funniest part is that they still draft better than Detroit.

Yes, they did fail that trade. but Cleveland bailed on it. The thought is that they wanted Johnny before Dallas picked because everyone thought they were going to take him.
Tennessee was the only team willing to trade but were asking too much. So give Farmer credit again, he didn't panic and overpay for Johnny and he was willing to let Dallas make the move. But when they passed then the next team to be know to have interest in Johnny was KC at 23. So he played his cards well and got a great value on Johnny.

THERE's a team that deserves Johnny.

That statement cannot be made until years from now.

Anyone want to get in on a great practical joke for next year's draft? Just need to find out what restaurants that dude goes to.

By the way, I was also thrilled that Roby went in the first round, and that it wasn't to the Steelers.
From here on out there's only two players I'd love the Steelers to grab: Nix (don't be shocked if they trade up for him) and Hyde (they have no need for him, but he's a Buckeye and he's awesome).
Other than that I expect them to grab some 6'3-6" receiver nobody has heard of, and one or two CB prospects.

There are still 4 first round talents on the board at WR yet. Marquise Lee, Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson and Cody Latimer. Lee is prolly the highest rated but the only one under 6 foot, all the rest are big guys.
Browns have the third pick in the second round today, i'd be happy with any one of those guys. Carlos Hyde is also an option for them there too.
I just hope the Steelers don't get any of these guys.

Sure! with 2 number 1's next year we can tell him to get Jameis Winston!
Hey, no fair drafting a QB who could actually be good.
Right? I hope Hoyer and Manziel are just good enough this year that Cleveland skips on Winston next year.

My dream scenario is Buffalo gets bought by Bon Jovi right before the season starts and tells the world he's moving the franchise to Toronto Canada. The team and fans revolt and they fall into a downward spiral much like Cleveland did in '95.
Buffalo ends up with a woeful 3-13 record and the first pick in the draft.. Behold! it now belongs to Cleveland! Since Johnny had such a great rookie season and solidifies himself as the undisputed starter, they get a kings ransom for the #1 pick and the rights to Jameis Winston. Cleveland would recieve a deal similar to what St. Louis got for RG3 and have multiple 1st rounders for years to come.
Cleveland settles in as the powerhouse of the AFC north routiney beating the shit out of the Steelers and Ravens all while Johnny is flashing money signs up and down the field.

Cam has issues throwing too high to receivers sometimes. So we drafted the tallest motherfucking receiver we could find in Kelvin Benjamin. Definetly a boom or bust type player. Unlike past receivers we drafted though, we vetted the shit out of this guy, the coaching staff spent DAYS at his pro day, combine, in Charlotte, etc. checking him out.
Then our GM dismissed him publicly as not being polished enough for us (something something route tree).
But then just like last year, we sprinted to the podium in 30 seconds and got our pick in for Kelvin. Hope it turns out just like it did with Star, too.
Almost as good of a smokescreen as the Jags pulled off. Almost.
Can you bottle that optimism and sell it? Cuz... DAMN
It's honestly amazing to witness.
This clown came up to me on Wednesday talking shit about week 1!! They've lost 19 of the last 21 games against the Steelers, and he's talking shit!
They sell some really strong Kool-Aid in Cleveland.
