So Gizmodo discovered a bug in the iPhone that let them essentially spy on another iPhone user's phone. They rightly decided to go public with it to force Apple to fix it fast.

However, they made a curious choice in deciding to post the person's pictures and conversations. They blurred certain words, and faces, but go look at the article, no way does this not damage the guy's life. They expose his job, and it's obvious probably caused him some issues in his personal life.

Whomever green lit this at Gizmodo is an asshole.

I bet if it were some completely random person they'd have help back a little more. But since it's an Apple employee and they're the ones not fixing the problem, they felt a little freer about skewering him a bit.

Not that that makes it righter. I just can understand where they might have been coming from there.
