Game of Thrones *SPOILERS* - For the nights dark and full of SPOILERS
It's been renewed for a second season.
Incidentally, what the hell is it about? I've seen exactly NOTHING about it.

It's a very good series of fantasy novels(4 so far), set in something similar to the "War of the Roses" period. I sometimes think of it has fantasy for people who hate how cheesy fantasy can get sometimes.
Very adult, very violent. Great characters, and each of the 4 books written so far are absolute page turners, when you get into the good parts, it is almost impossible to put down.
They spent 50 million on the first season, and kept very very true to the book storyline.
If you don't like the first episode, I would be very surprised.
Also, I had to TPB the first ep as well. Why isn't it on iTunes?

"War of the Roses"
I loved that movie. Michael Douglas was great in it.

What is TPB?

This makes me wonder if HBO is going to be the next Blockbuster, completely in love with the business model that has served them for a couple decades and ignoring emerging market trends.TheCatt wrote:
People are dumping cable and going streaming-only. HBO better not ignore the internet the way Blockbuster did.

Second episode was a lot of plot development and more polarization of characters, very good overall. They left out and changed a few things to keep it from bogging down too much, but it made sense from a filming perspective.
Peter D was born to play Tyrion. He owns every scene that he is in, unbelievable actor.

I'm up to episode four and enjoying it quite a bit. Lots of potential here.
Although I don't like very many of the characters. So far my favorite is definitely Tyrion Lannister. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a bad guy.
