Columbus Day

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Val Kilmer stars as a criminal who just pulled off the job of a lifetime and is waiting in a park to get paid off. As he waits, he meets a young boy, which causes him to take a look at his life.

This movie occurs almost completely in the park. It's very, very slow and character driven. The whole movie is Val interacting with people. The interactions with the kid and lots of phone calls to family and friends.

The bad thing is that despite the entire movie being about the characters, they all go pretty much undeveloped. Almost everyone has a back story, but they go unexplained for the most part.

The film isn't bad, and Val's decent, but not outstanding. Still, I can't really recommend it unless you're in the mood for this type of film. So, the score will reflect that.

4 out of 10.
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”
